Why should he stop? That is basically what happened. JVG wanted Boki out of here, that is why they did the deal, and they were even willing to throw JJ out there if needed. It's posted somewhere, this trade was about getting rid of Boki.
It doesn't make sense to me that the front office would need to trade Jackson just to get rid of Nachbar. Instead, they could have simply waived Boki, whose contract expires at the end of this season anyways. What is more likely is that they actually wanted Wesley.
That seems to make more sense... I mean, they could have just let Boki walk after this season is over. But... dare we?! Dare we question Clutch's source?! Oh well. Either way, I root for Wesley now. Good luck Boki and JJ, when you play the Rockets, hope you suck real bad.
Unfortunately JJ fits in the system, gave good effort every night, and shouldn’t have complained about playing time since he was getting over 35 mins a game. Boki on the other hand is another story.
I think CD is just a rubber stamp to endorse Van Gundy directed deals-see Ward, Ewing hiring, Mutombo, and Spoon... If true that JVG wanted to be rid of Boki enough to include a 35 min a nite player like Jackson, then this is the " tail wagging the dog".... We lost heart and leadership in losing Jackson, and made a lateral move aquiring Wesley...... Our little coach......--OHH! and GM de facto
I didn't have the patience to read each and every post in this thread...I'm tired beyond belief of the VG as a single source for a slower than expected started but regarding a "desperate power play".... The Rockets were 3-0 when Jackson was out with the flu and back spasms.
Proof positive that JJ was the cancer! Hopefully, now that we've shed ourselves of that plague on our fine team, we'll run the table from here on out and snag the homecourt advantage for the playoffs! Or maybe not.
Hmmm...3-0 without JJ huh? Well, he is gone now...so we can look forward to 67-15 now.. WOOOHOO !! DD
It's JIM FREAKING JACKSON people!!! It's not like it's this guy who's been able to stick with one team throughout his career. He's a role player, nothing more. We're not the only team throughout his career who rightfully believed he was expendable. In fact, nearly half the teams have believed this.
