I told you AM2 has some issues about online play. They're just another Japanese developer that doesn't "get it."

Online play for VF5 could have done a lot for the franchise and the genre. Too bad they didn't see things that way (or that they didn't want to sacrifice "perfection" for it).

Well than that's fair. I think MKII was more sought after but I don't think much would come from us arguing over if MKII or Ultimate is better.

I think it's really dumb of you to make an assessment a system being good for a genre when it has not been out much more than 6 months. There are more RPGs on the 360 then PS3 at this point. Would you say the 360 is the RPG gamers system?

Again, wait until the ps3's first real holiday season. Jesus, how many games have been released after the initial launch? Wait until we see what the machine can roll out in software until you say it is poorly suited for a specific game type

VF5 is amazing. Tekken 5 has already been released and Tekken 6 is on the way, as is RAMPAGE WORLD TOUR (with online play). Yes Live is vastly superior to what Sony has now but is has been around a lot longer. Sony is not charging to get online so look for online gaming for the ps3 to grow in even proportions to the system's continued sales.

If you're not used to these types of numbers, the first number is the position in the chart (1-50), the next number is the position the game was at last week (with 00 indicating a new release), and the last two numbers indicate the sales for the game during that week and the game's total sales (this is only for the top 10 games though). Credit to NeoGAF (and Cheesemeister specifically for posting the numbers in an easy-to-read fashion) and Media Create of Japan for the numbers.

I thought about posting European sales, but there are only software rankings for each major country (UK, Ireland, Germany, etc.), which doesn't really gives us that much. I might post them from time to time for major releases, but I don't really feel like bothering with it for now.

I'm a huge supporter of Sony, owning PS2, PSP, and having previously owned PS1. I will eventually buy a PS3 because I love both MGS series and the Final Fantasy series. But as of right now, even the biggest PS fans have no reason to get the system. As the sales records indicates, PS2 has plenty of good games right now to take up my time. And there's no must-buy titles for PS3. What's the point? I already have a notebook to serve as my computer. I don't need to spend $600 on another one unless it can do something more.

Im glad they know their shlt at gamestop and you are intelligent enough to have your purchases dictated by a pimply-faced fanboy. lol maybe someday they will find something to do with the ps3 besides putting oversized books right next to the spot where you put your feet up. I MEAN RIGHT GUYS?!111

Sony should add the fact that it is a good coffee table to their bullet points. It is a Blu-ray player, a personal computer, a device capable of media streaming, it plays video games, and it is a coffee table. Getting the same experience from the 360, Wii, or some other system would cost you well over $600 given the price of a decent coffee table these days. ;)

BTW, I updated my previous post with hardware sales in Japan from last week, and the software sales of the top 10 titles from last month in the US.

NPD sales from August (via NeoGAF):

    edit: A bit more data...

Lair sold 46.5K copies and the retail version of Warhawk sold 58.6K copies. Not bad...maybe even pretty good given the circumstances for each. 69.5K GBAs were sold in the month as well.

Yea I saw the September sales on the IGN Boards. Halo 3's impact is absolutely INSANE!

That game is truely a system seller!

hmm, I wonder what that list would have looked like if GTA 4 would have been released as scheduled.

Think I'll start putting quarter results here...

The last (and only other) time this division posted a profit was when Halo 2 released. Hmm...if only they could release one of those every quarter. :)

I think these are the latest LTDs for the main 3 (all numbers are shipped to retailers I believe):
    PS3 - 5.59 million
    Wii - 13.17 million
    360 - 13.4 million

Here are some numbers for the rest if anyone cares:
    PS2 - 123.87 million
    GBA - 80.48 million
    NDS - 53.64 million
    PSP - 30.11 million

Credit to Parmenides at NeoGAF for collecting that information.
