exactly. arguably the best RB in the league against a very average QB, so far.

So, why don't you think people like Vick? What's the "tidy little mold of what a QB should be" that "most folx here simply don't like Vick because" of? You think someone like MadMax doesn't like Vick because he's not a pocket passer?

IMO Vick is probably overcriticised (though he should not have gone to the pro bowl this year, I agree) and Culpepper overrated.

I think stats can be very deceptive. Culpepper has always had among the best offensive tools in the game around him, and his team is modestly successfull at best. Culpepper actually has a higher fumble rate than Vick despite running less.

Granted, it is subjective, but I really question Culpepper's leadership ability and composure. Just seems to have a knack for playing great for 3/4 of the key games and then the bonehead play. The fact he did so poorly with Randy Moss gone but Brad Johnson comes in and gets them playing much better doesn't help his case either.

Injuries aside, I'd much rather start a team with 25 year old Vick who I think can still improve than the 28 year old knack for the great stats followed by the bonehead play Culpepper.

I think if you put Vick on the Broncos (turned Jake P from a scrub to pro bowlers), Stealers (Ben R has it so easy), or Culpepper's 2000 Vikings, people would be saying Vick is one of the best players in the league.

I agree with you on Daunte's leadership ability, I was really disappointed that he was on that boat. Although that has nothing to do with onfield leadership, I think it was a bad sign.

    Pretty much
Folx hate that he don't sit in the pocket and get tackle like Carr.

Just like hating a 'Shoot First" Pg

    which is why i:

    1. love VY..think he has "best ever" type potential; and

    2. think Vick is incredibly overrated.

My own view is Vick is overated by some and very much underrated by a lot more. He seems to be a polarizing figure few IMO are very objective about either because his off the field stuff disguists them or because people hate or love his playing style without looking at the problems it causes for his team and opponents. I guess Vick is a lot like Bill Clinton.

He isn't the best player in the NFL by a long way, but he still would be one of the top 10 or so players GMs would try to build their team around.

that's the funny thing, though. when i hear him talk, i like him. seems like an ok guy.

i just think the hype is ridiculous. i can't fathom how this guy makes it the pro bowl. last year he made it to the pro bowl while delhomme and favre stayed home. ridiculous.

Jake Delhomme is a tremendously underrated QB, imo.
