Only Rafer could get the post game interview after shooting 4-12 with 4 assists.

Your missing the whole point of the thread JaWindex. Were not talking about his shooting percentage or assist ratio. Were talking about how he is valuable to the team in many other ways. Just like Battier, a lot of Alstons contributions cant be seen in the box scores. It morons like you who see the box score and automatically assume that his 4-12 and 4 assists constitutes to a bad game. What about the way he brings up the ball with speed and ignites the offense with ease? Do you even realise that this is allowing us to get good shots early in the shot clock rather than bad ones with it winding down? Other than that he usually has a low number of turnovers, runs the break very well, often comes up big in the 4th quarter and penetrates and finds the open man. His D is not always up to scratch ill admit that, but he puts his heart on his sleeve every night and tries his best.

In summary i honestly believe that we can win a championship with rafer at the point. Sure we can do better but for what we need he does just fine.

Man I loved that guy. I would have loved to see him play for a coach like Phil Jackson in the triangle. If he would have ever had even a decent team to play on before his knees broke down...wow. The Celtics got him too late.

Rafer keeps our offense always in good tempo and I haven't seen any other past Rocket PG play the position as well..

For all of you Rafer-haters, do you know that stress has a tremendous impact on your overall health? With that in mind, it is reasonable to say that Rafer does his job well. He isn't a superstar and thus superstar-like expectations should not be made of him (so stop comparing him to the Steve Francis of old, or Steve Nash, or the Tony Parker of a few years ago, and you'll live a longer, more fruitful life!)

I still think the Rockets need to try and get Chucky Atkins and/or Luol Deng.

I'm sure this has been mentioned but did anybody here Clyde during the game when he said Rafer was a top 5 PG in the league......un freakin beleivable...yes he runs our offense smoothly but rafer isn't even in the top 3 in our division let alone top 5 in the leauge....Its almmost unbearable listening to the guy sometimes...almost painful....

sorry I had to repost that above but if you missed it on the telecast I wanted to make sure everyone heard it....I thnk everybody on this board is semi knowleedgable about BBAll and the NBA and we can name 5 better PG than rafer....Bill Worrell just went silent and pretended like he didn't hear it....I don't know how bill does it...its not just one stupid comment once in a while...it happens a couple of times a game.....
