I dont think thats true, according to what Avery Johnson was saying on the radio, they would like to continue their groove going into the playoffs and will probably start playing his playoff rotation aganinst the Spurs.
But that DOES NOT mean they can beat Spurs. I think Mavs will lose in first round. Just the 94 supersonics all over again.
I only care what they do rather than what they say. Yesterday against Jazz, Mavs rested 2 starters (Terry, Dampier) and their 6th man (Stackhouse), while Dirk only planed 30 minutes. By the way, they almost gave up fighting for rebounds, out rebounded 26 vs 41. The above does not support what Avery said.
Avery said specifically about San Antonio game, was still according to interview resting his players against Utah
Did he say that after the Jazz game or before? If before, just ignore it because the Jazz game was a joke and proved his real intentions. He also said before the game his team was tired. If he said this after the Jazz game, then AJ is just talking out of his ears if he thinks anyone will believe him after last night.
from what i remember it was before the Utah game, he said he was going to rest players, including the minnesota game, then try and get the rotation going into the last couple games of the season before the playoffs. Thus he has so far done exactly what he has said and tomorrow he will either be a liar or speaking the truth.
Forget Mavs' help on Spurs game, who cares. Let's beat the suns. We will beat Mavs in the second round if they can come through.
