It looks like the weather is going to be okay this morning, but there is a good chance the rain will move in later today. Which is good news because now everybody will get stuck at work all day.
At first, I thought the Utah Jazz had won an NBA title when I woke up this morning, because the local news made it seem like hell had frozen over...
i remember a day like that in 1988 or 89 (can't remember which). we all got to school that day with freeze warnings for later on. they didn't cancel school. by about 1 they were asking parents to come pick up the kids on roads that were already beginning to ice over. brilliant.
Alternatly sleeting and snowing in Circle C here in Austin, my kids are loving it....and so am I ! DD
Us too. Did you see the size of some of that clumping snow? They were like ping-pong balls. I put my little one on the iced-over slide. Uh...I don't think he was expecting to go that fast.
I have never seen snow clumps come down like that...now my 8 year old is glued to the TV wondering if we are going to get enough to build a snow man. I hope so.. DD
It's like the 2004 Christmas I spent in Chicago. No snow at all up there and there was a white Christmas in Houston.
Hey I just saw a couple snow flurries (or maybe sleet) outside my window on Post Oak. Radar does show a little bit around here though. The forecast on weather.com is also showing a possibility of snow tonight and tomorrow. http://www.weather.com/outlook/home...h_metro_iah/1a/dopplerradar100mile_large.html
Snow has been coming down for the last few hours at my house (Harris Branch...out towards Manor). It's not really building up, but there was enough to make some small snowmen and a few snowballs to throw at my dog.
Snow predictions are tough since that Pacific front is causing intermittent (non-freezing) inversion layers that ruin the snow, but the forecast models show us recieving a total of 3-4 inches of snowfall through Thursday evening.
I hate this weather. I wish it never got cold in austin. My car is frozen shut and every place is closed. Who needs snow when you can have fun in the sun.
