Bobby Jackson is solid, but has nothing on Jason Williams.

Jackson is new to the team and I'm sure Sacramento wants him to gain experience working with the first unit in critical situations.

Walt Williams finishes games for Houston, too. Are you implying that Walt Williams is better than Shandon Anderson?

Sometimes it's nice to be the back-up -- teams do not focus their defense on you. That changes in the playoffs. Jackson can dribble all he wants, but it's Jason Williams who can break down the defense with his dribble.

Jackson plays off his team-mates. Jason Williams, on the other hand, can potentially break down the defense and -create- for his team-mates.

Getting a win against anyone (even the Clippers) without your best player means the team played well. I wouldn't ming a PG who got 6 assists and 0 TOs everynight, granted he didn't score much.
Honestly it seems like alot of folks on the board likes to slam every other PG in the league in an attempt to prop up Francis. A guy doesn't have to score 20 a night to be a good player.
Also keep in mind if you slam people who don't finish game, that Dream for most of the season sat during the 4th quarter as well. Guess he could feel the pressure from Pig, Cato, Los, Bull, etc [IMG]

Leave Walt out of this will ya. I've been complaining about him for a couple of months now. And to answer your question, no he is not better than Shandon Anderson.

    Nice sig. [IMG]

Here is my unbiased, honest, realistic impression of Jason Williams ability as a PG in this league:

    He sucks.

Bobby Jackson is clearly the better point guard. Jason Williams decision making is horrendous. He takes ill advised shot, including way too many pull ups. I saw him in an overtime game against the Pacers at Arco, just shoot the Kings to a loss. Drop this getting Jackson experience argument, the Kings are trying to get wins, and with Bobby Jackson in there, they have a better chance.

Don't you mean one of the sweetest shots in the league of any player shooting under 42% and only 32% on threes?

It doesn't matter whether or not bobby jackson gets to start, because he gets to finish games and that's the true sign of who's the better player.

Sacramento beat GS (again w/o C-Webb) 122-104 (I think). J-W again didn't have very many points, but had 10 asists (and only 2 TOs) in 28 minutes. Again not a bad game and more importantly a win.

These two guys seem to have very different games. It is similar to the differences between Mooch and Steve. Steve is much more adept at scoring on his own, while Mooch seems to have a better knack at finding the open man (even though Steve is still pretty good as well). The ideal is that you have both in one man, but that doesn't happen very often (see Payton, Gary).

Comparing Williams and Jackson is not getting anyone anywhere, their games are too different. It's like asking, which is more important, assists or points?

First off, Jason kidd went to Cal, not UCLA. Second, he is a legitimate all star and a very good player. You criticize him for not being able to shoot when his percentage isn't much worse than williams' and he doesn't take nearly as many bad shots.

Those who can, shoot (jumpers). Those who can't............enroll at UC, work that pass-MAGIC into the NBA, give you and your team-mates a cool nick-name: the "Three Js" ("J" not as in "jumper"), somehow get selected for the All-Star team, and then get traded for a legitimate All-Star (too many "Js" in Big D). ("J," once again, not as in "jumper.")

Jason Williams has the potential to be one of the great players...and therefore, should continue to shoot the jumpers (and pass the ball the way he is comfortable doing). He'll miss some shots, might throw the ball away, and could (not likely) cost Sacramento a chance to win some games, but that is part of his development. All the great players have been en-titled time to develop their game. It shouldn't be any different for Jason Williams.

    Sac 122 and GS 104.

While J-Dubb did not put Sac on his back and carry them last night, the Kings did not need that. In 27 mins he got 10 assists and only 2 T/Os with 8 pts.

Still nothing to write home about in the scoring department but once again the Kings did not need that from him. It looks like he provide the Kings with just what they needed to night, someone to creat for the rest of the team.

The Kings scored 122 pts and J-Dubb was the man leading the charge for most of the game. I have to give him an A-. If his shooting percentage would have been a little better he would have been an A+.

Once again I am judging him on the performance of the offense and and his involvment with it. Its hard to argue when the team scores 122 pts.

Bobby Jackson had another good night with 16pts. Nothing new here.

O.K. University Blue, here is your chance to praise the great Jason Williams for a job well done.

Including his supposed "bad shots," Jason Williams makes a higher percentage than Jason Kidd.

From three-point range (further out on the court), Jason Williams takes about fifty-percent more shots than Jason Kidd and connects on a higher percentage.

By the way, I'm not criticizing Jason Kidd. I could care less what he does (on the court). You're right, he's a "very good player" -- not great.

    Update #4.

    Kings vs. Clipps

If there is any game this year that J-Dubb should be able to put the Kings on his back this is it. The Rox very own Moochie Norris has had good games against this team.

    Final score....Clipps 88 Kings 81

    J-Dubbs stats:

4 pts 3 assists 2 rebounds and 1steal in 33 minutes of play and 1 of 5 shooting.

Only word that comes to mind after this one is PATHETIC. J-Dubb did a complete disapearing act in this one. For those including myself that has been watching Bobby Jackson as well, he was no better.

For those that are counting, this is the 4th update on Jason Williams. Of the for games he has been good(I gave him an A) in one, not good to bad in two and just plain awfull in this one. This comes at a time when the Kings need their supposed All Star caliber guard to step up in Webbers abscence.

It is starting to apear that J-Dubb is even worse than I first thought. Perhaps the Kings should called the Rockets or the Mavs before the traiding deadling to see if they could swing a deal for Mooche or Eisley. They desperately need a point guard with some NBA ability.

    Extraordinary Games....0
    Good Games...........…..1
    Fair Games.........……..0
    Bad Games.....…..........2
    Awful Games..……......1

If you insist on rating his performance, Jason Williams also played forty-plus games at the beginning of the season -- at least one against Houston.

UB, I only started keeping score four games ago. I don't have the energy to go back and rank the previous 50 or so games. If you have go ahead and post em.
