Ladies and Gentlemen, let's agree on 1 thing, all we care about is Rocket victories and I want the best 5 on the floor who score and play defense equally well. Especially in the last 5 minutes of the game when we need stops or scores. Jlin has his positives as does Beverly's. Jlin issues are amplified more due to him making $8 mln. I think PBev makes less than a 10th of that. Once again, both of our PG's offense will come and go. However, their defense must be consistent every game in order for us to win.
Well, you've definitely shown you're a LOH. Who do you think other NBA teams would rather have on their team right now? Every team in the NBA would still pick Lin over Beverley in a heartbeat. You're making your conclusions based on one game. Why don't you use the game where we beat OKC to support your argument. Beverley played 18 minutes and went 0-4 with 1 reb, 1 asst, 2 stls and 1 to. Superstar! Meanwhile, Lin played a solid game going 12-22 with 3 3pts, 6 rebs, 7 assts, 2 stls and was a huge factor in us winning- despite Beverley's weak effort. In fact, Beverley had the worst +/- ratio out of the whole team. Strange for a guy who makes the team better when he's on the court.
He has done that twice already against Westbrook and has shown promise. The Lin bashing is mostly due to debating other posters and the after effects of the game. Lin is still a very capable player and he will get better. But at the moment it is just not a good idea to keep forcing him to go up against Westbrook when we all know that he will get carved up on defense.
It is crystal clear now! Coach is using facts in his believe. coachbadlee = beverley only fan!:grin:
This is a case where your eye test is affected by your prejudice. This month in the 7 games that Lin has scored 15 or more points, only once has his man outscored him. And that was by 1 point.
Can you READ? I started by saying Lin played A pi$$-poor game, and you gave me a few online articles talking about THAT game, to support your ridiculous "assessment" that Beverly is a BETTER PLAYER, when he's on the court, the WHOLE team play better.
coachbadlee is a good poster with many keen observations. However, at times, he has conjunctivitis, only a short term condition. He will be fine!
when parsons got his 3rd foul, coaches played alot with bev, lin, and harden on the court at same time. bev was the primary defender on rw. i am sorry bev didn't do anything to stop rw.
Wow, seems impossible to have an intelligent conversation with you. Yes, I picked the 7 most RECENT games, thinking they should be the most fresh in your mind. You made a statement and you were wrong on 6 of the most recent 7. If that's not good enough, then let's look at the whole season. Of the 31 times that Lin scored 15 or more, 7 times he was outscored by his man. That means you were wrong more than 3 out of 4 times. So, yes. Your eye test is affected by your prejudice.
in 1st qt before bev was subbed in, lin was the primary defender on rw. rw made 2 of 7 shots. i don't think it is bad.
My eye test matches the rest of the leagues. You want to dismiss it as "prejudice" because you refuse to see hat was in front of you the whole time. You are not having an intelligent conversation, you are forcing a biased one. That's what the problem is. You are frustrating yourself. The league saw Sunday what i saw months ago. Beverley has a more complete game and is a better fit next to Harden than Jeremy at the moment. What scoring ability Jeremy does have is soarly needed on the bench. As someone mentioned earlier, OKC has prepared for Jeremy and is now trying to plan for Beverley, but they won't be able to because he doesn't just score.
Because you're highlighting this one playoff game in the current discussion to say that Beverley is better than Lin which simply isn't true. You still haven't told me why Beverley sucked donkey when the Rockets beat the Thunder earlier this season. You also still haven't responded to the fact that why Westbrook shot 2-8 in the first quarter of the last game when Lin was the primary defender but then when Beverley was on him, he shot 4-6 for the remainder of the game. The fact's don't back up what you're saying.
People are still messing with this guy? The guy has an IQ of a goat. Even Tinman and Rocket Fans can agree with that.
You respond to this. These people are basing their assumptions on one game. Again, this thread was started in February.
