    This idea is not new.......

Were screwed in these playoffs. You think lin coming off the bench will all of a sudden fix our issues against OKC??

And for next year, (barring a trade) there's 0 chance Lin, harden, Parsons, and Asik don't make up 80 percent of the starting lineup

I agree with this assessment. With our playing style as it is set, Beverley is the better fit. He's a good defensive presence and he can hit the 3-ball more consistently than Lin. He also seems more decisive, which is something I love in him. You can tell, when he has the ball in his hands, he already knows what he wants to do with it.

Lin in the 2nd unit wouldn't be considered a demotion. It would allow him to serve as a better catalyst, and let him gain some confidence while building an offensive rhythm. Lin is all about the flow of the game, and he just can't force it like only the elite players can. Let's give Lin another shot for Wednesday though. I have a feeling that this bitter taste is going to linger in his mouth until he somewhat redeems himself against Westbrook. If he doesn't though, I say start Beverley if we want a shot at making it some semblance of a series.

i find it funny whenever lin has a bad game, this board is brought up. if this is not call hate, then you don't know what hate is. where's this thread when lin had his good games such as the one against okc? where's this thread when bev when on a drought scoreless for 5 games straight? that's right, haters!

yes bev is awsome and i like every minutes he has played for the rockets but no way he can be a good starter in the nba. at his best he is a backup pg and stop overhyping him like how ny overhyped lin lol

Lin is frustrating to watch. He's clearly very talented, but he is his own worst enemy a lot of the time.

LOL. Beverly was good in that he played with a lot of poise in his first post season which honestly was remarkable. But 11 points on 10 shots, passing the ball out of bounds, crashing the offensive glass instead of running back in transition on defense, pressuring a guy in the back court only to get burned when he blows past you & creating a 4 on 5 situation for your team, & not recognizing mismatches in the half court. He made a lot of mistakes as well but people don't see this for whatever reason. Also people don't see that OKC didn't defend beverly like they do Lin or Harden but believe what you want to believe lord knows I can't stop you. Lin harden Parsons Greg were all awful in so many ways, dumb passes, poor turnovers, poor shot selection, poor defensive awareness etc. Beverly & Harden were the only two guys that were comfortable in the playoff atmosphere it seems.

Even with all of that he still outplayed lin by a mile.

You know what. Fair enough. Lin was legitimately awful & way to nervous & Beverly was poised.

Patrick Beverley was interviewed on SportsTalk Live on CSN Houston and I thought this quote was pretty good when he was asked about the energy and effort he plays with:

"I just thought that's how basketball was supposed to be played. I was always raised that you go out there and give 120%. Ironically I get praised for doing something that you should be doing on the basketball court."

Man if I had the effort in me, I would upload a lot of plays that involved Beverly and post them.

Did we all watch the same game? Dude was constantly roasted on the defensive side. Shot 10 shots to get 11 points, made terrible decisions on transition D, yes he swiped 2 balls that "almost" became steals, but also because he did that got caught on his heels a lot as his man would blow by him causing the D to have to rotate to compensate, giving open looks.

Yes we get it...Lin had a bad game. Hilarity that some of you take the scraps of moments that Beverly might have. "OMG dude hit a three!!!!" and try to juxtapose that Beverly is a better player.

How, if your Jeremy Lin, do you have any confidence at all as a player. If you have a good game 29 points and 8 assists with 2 turnovers, your coach sells you out as being selfish to the newspapers. Someone who doesn't play "team ball" and would rather turn the ball over 9 times. If you struggle as a young PG, you get to sit and watch every non nothing play that Beverly brings give you more bench time. When your on the court your role, for the most part is NOT to bring the ball up the court and set the play or the offense its to stand in the corner and wait. If another PG is on the court, your officially not the person to initiate the offense.

If your Lin how are you being given the opportunity to succeed? People on this board scream turnovers, until it is duly noted that Harden is way worse. They scream "cant shoot" until his shooting percentage eclipses Hardens. Just an FYI, no Guard ended up shooting better from the floor than Lin did.

McHale needs to do a better job of directing a game plan that isn't Harden hand off Iso plays. His one trick offense was adjusted too and the League caught on. This is why Harden has struggled so much lately.

HA! Did you actually bother to watch the game? If you had, you would have seen how he almost single-handedly keyed that run that temporarily kept us in the game in the first half.

We're praising Beverley's performance -- with the exception of Harden he was the best player on the floor last night. The fact that Rockets fans like to praise our other guards when they have good games doesn't always mean that they hate Lin or are rooting against him. There's no need to overreact.

Beverley has great energy when he comes off the bench, but he can't keep it for the 20+minutes.

"He played like a star for half a season but he can't play like a starter caliber guard for an entire season."

    Sound familiar?

Hmm... Did you not watch Game 1? Beverley played 27 minutes.

    Any other excuse?

I just see proof how young we are....

It was the 137th NBA playoff game that Parker, Ginobili and Duncan have played together...

When has Beverley ever played like a star though?
