Let's be honest - his skillset doesn't translate to competitive, playoff basketball where teams aren't playing pickup games like a loosy goosy D'Antonio system. Just not a quick decision maker with the ball in his hands, slow when he's not running full steam, shaky handles and no rhythm on his jumper. But hey, what's done is done. Houston needs to concentrate on signing Bynum and drafting a speedy guy in the 2nd r. who fits next to Harden. The whole Lin publicity stunt ran it's course after they signed Harden and had some bonafide talent on the team. I don't think a single team in the league will take on his contract until it's expiring, and Les doesn't care! ($$$)
So Lin plays in his first playoff game against the second best team in the league with a 9+ point differential and lays an egg and it's time to start beverley... Jesus the kneejerk on this forum is just incredible.
Whats the point? We're still going to get blown our either way. We have no chance, none. nada zip zero zilch. I would agree that if Lin doesn't improve in the offseason (DUDE BETTER WORK ON HIS BELOW AVERAGE HANDLES) I wouldn't mind benching him or maybe even trading him.
This is the truth. The PR stunt is over with, keep Lin as a 3rd stringer so Les can keep his Chinese in-game ads running, but let's get a real PG to start asap.
I agree. Maybe we can trade him and a pick for fillers. Anything to get out from under that contract. If I see him wince in pain one more freaking time. I thought we got rid of McGrady.
Normally I just pass by these threads without even giving them a second thought... but man, Jeremy Lin was worse than useless tonight. He didn't do anything other than hand the ball to the other team and let Russell Westbrook go anywhere he wanted to.
I think most of the people on here that dislike Lin, have for a long time buddy. Not just because of tonight.
I think starting Beverly would be benefitial for everyone including Lin. Lin will get to have the ball more coming off the bench
So much truth you just wrote. Frankly Lin just isn't skilled or versatile enough to be a good PG. You need a PG who can dribble, pass, and shoot with ultimate confidence. Lin is a one trick pony who can only put his head down and drive. This will work in pick up games but not in half court grind out games like the playoffs.
I don't see how a combo of Beverly/Brooks at PG can't possibly be better. Hell, even Brooks plays better D than Lin.
