I agree with your assessment of Beverly's offense. But, because he would be on the court with Harden, as with Lin he would not have to handle the "point guard" duties 100 percent of the time. Now if Harden was a traditional shooting guard, no way I would think Beverly could be a starter. And also not all starters have to average 30-35 minutes.

It's going to be interesting to see the development of Beverly and Lin going into next season.

Great points. It takes time to develop chemistry and to develop an offensive scheme that will maximize and utilize Harden's and Lin's strengths on the floor together. Look at Miami for instance. In the first year Lebron and Dwayne played together, Miami basically ran what Houston is running now. They had Lebron and Dwayne basically taking turns running the high pick and roll, while the other one stood in the corner or near the break. If this is what two top 10 players with extremely high BBIQs were doing in the first year together, why is everyone expecting Harden and Lin to do so much more?

They're both improving and will continue to do so. Just wait till next year.

Excellent article. Thanks for posting. Better than the Culture Map one on Lin.

First off, I never said TD was better than Bev! That's ridiculous. TD is not even a pg like at all, lol
Secondly, if you think Lin plays bad defense, you are mistaken. If you think Lins been getting lit up, you don't understand how defense works at all. Believe it or not, other teams score. Quick pg's are hard to guard even for quick guards.
Finally if you are saying that this backcourt is a recipe for disaster, are you saying to get rid of Lin? So a Bev-Harden combo is better than a Lin-Harden combo? Let's just agree to disagree.

I can already tell you what is going to happen. Beverley's shot will get better. Remember how bad Lowry's shooting was. The very next season it was a different story. I see the same thing happening here.

Coach no offense but everybody here takes your predictions with a grain of salt. They're not sometimes right, they're never right.

Why anybody would want to mess with the rotation is beyond me. Bev plays as tenacious and aggressive as he does BECAUSE of his role. His energy would be misguided of he started. He can be a top backup pg and that's very exciting

I don't understand where everyone is getting this mess with the rotation nonsense. These guys have been playing together nearly an entire season now. More than once we have seen Beverley closing out games with Harden. As a matter of fact we just saw it the other night. That mess with the rotation stuff sounds like an excuse.

Excellent article. Some new stuff on his journey that I didn't know.

I liked how he funded his mom with the nail salon. And in Houston no less.

The fact that he got to play with more mature professional players I'm sure, really helped his development.

Beverley joined the team on 1/8/2013 and has only played in 37 games, not even half a seasons worth.

    Great article. Thanks.

I think it's a near certainty that regardless of what top shelf free agents we bring in, Parsons and Beverly are here to stay. You just can't find their production and contributions at their respective salaries.

I don't think Lin can be traded with his contract: $20 mill for the remaining 2 years. . . .

It's about the cap. It would count as 8/8 against another team's cap. It only would have been 20mil for NYK.

Lin is plenty tradeable.....to the right team. I think Sacramento is probably the best suitor. No established PG, and Lin would be very popular in Seattle. A little farther down the road, the Lakers may be a good fit. The Jazz, Magic, and Bucks may all need someone soon.

My guess is Lin brings in enough sponsors and revenue to cover his paycheck, so other than the cap room, he's costless.

Doesn't matter if I think Lin isn't a good defender, it matters what the coaching staff thinks. And since they would pull him for TD and now Beverly _ What does that tell you...???

And Lin and Harden have had some great games together, but going by your assessment of not being able to stop a point guard (even though I see Lin get shut down often) then this team would be even better with someone like Jarrett Jack who has just as good numbers coming off the bench for Golden State than what Lin has as a starter.

I don't advocate getting rid of Lin, but I will tell you that the point guard position is the most replaceable position on this team. Especially with Morey as the GM because he pulls them out of thin air like magic...
