Yes, claiming to be the law and order president when there has been months and months of civil unrest under your leadership defies logic. Then when the argument is “well I can’t do anything if the cities don’t ask” proves the very point, that Trump isn’t the law and order President, that he cannot do anything, that it is up to the mayors.

So the whole “law and order President” is like everything else out of Trump’s mouth, smoke and mirrors at best and at worst flat out lies.

Also if you think the last case of civil unrest is in Portland, then you are sadly mistaken. Just this week there has been rioting, protesting and looting in Chicago... and there will be more.

Is there a video with more context? Either way, glad the cops got to him and glad he complied when they did. From what I would tell it didn't look like he wanted to actually shoot anyone. If he has a concealed license that will be reviewed. I don't have one but from what I understand anytime you brandish your weapon the incident is reviewed.

The good news is that nobody was seriously injured, right?

 

More importantly, Trump doesn't have to help if the Governors do the job they are elected to do - protect the public. It's obviously political posturing. I wonder if these governors' actions are being coordinated by someone or some group.

 

If you have a gun and are out there provoking people - your right to use lethal force in self-defense should be forfeited.

A gun should not be an enabler to violent self-defense - the law needs to reflect that.

Trump is running on saying he will end the unrest... unrest that has happened on his watch... yet deflects blame by saying there is nothing he can do about it as President... it
Is absurd, he cannot have it both ways.

I am not in Portland so I cannot say exactly what the mood of the city is. What I can say is if the governor or mayor isn’t doing a good job, I fully support removing them from office regardless of political party.

What I can speak on is the President and it isn’t coincidence this is all happening under his rule. He is reaping what he has sown. A lot of people are sick of his racist administration, his inflammatory comments and divisiveness. A lot of people are fed up with him and what he champions.

So while I don’t support anyone bringing guns to protests and have no interest in attacking anyone, I am not at all surprised this is where we are at.

 

I forgot who it was that made a good point about the President not having as much power as many people perceive as envisioned ...it’s kinda like the NFL where the owners run the team and the teams are the states , owners the governors and commissioner is the President. Also keep in mind that is extremely unique as a prominent cabinet members of an adminisration hardly ever has such explicit condemnation of the president they served.

 

At a certain point I wonder if trolls post something like this to bait posters into wasting time generating long nuanced lists that you know you'll never sincerely care to read or take into consideration?

Why do Trumpers think ISIS like armed militia caravans roaring through US cities is good politics when they are trying to a run a campaign to scare the white suburban people by presenting the same type of imagery but with scary Black people?

As for Trump being the "Law and order president" - That is in terms of supporting law enforcement rather than defunding them along with supportive legislation while not allowing Pelosi a free run to the endzone with any legislation of her own.

Nope , It wont be the last instance of civil unrest , There will be lots more rioting , burning , looting and probably killings but you know what ? The common theme will be that those cities and states are run by Democrats.
