In which way? you were inferring with your original post that Slice will knock the other guy out before he can put him in a vice...clearly this has never been the case!
This does not make sense. That is all I am saying. It goes both ways, and makes zero sense either way...

This was a terrible fight..........but it was free. Roy needs to bring it if he wants to shine in the UFC. Kimbo's ground game sucked.
lack of effort? seriously? you try to see if you can even move from that position by a guy who outweighs you by 35 pounds. kimbo is one of those guys who doesn't have a weight class. he is waaaay too small for heavyweight and too big for light heavyweight. anyhow, i liked what i saw from kimbo last night and i think he could beat the guys that are his size in TUF 10 but he doesn't have the skill set to beat guys that outweigh him, like nelson, on the ground. hell, i dunno how many heavyweights actually have the skill set to even beat nelson in a straight grappling match in the UFC. nelson has owned mir twice in grappling matches...i dunno it would be interesting to see how nelson can do against ufc guys on the ground.
i've watched it a few times. kimbo wasn't lacking effort he was lacking knowledge. i won't say he panicked on the ground but he had no clue how to attempt an escape without getting caught in another move from nelson. btw...do you think kimbo was lacking effort when he tried to escape by pushing off the cage with his feet? i thought it was a good try but nelson is very good with his weight and just knocked him back down and controlled him.
I confess.. I don't remember that part. I'm not sure that is a sfw site, so I'll need to watch it when I get home. What is burned into my mind is the 2nd round where his legs just sit there... he uses his legs to bridge, and after that they just sit there until the fight is called.
Why does everyone hate Kimbo so much? Give him a break. Its not his fault that he was used as a hype machine. There's no shame in losing to a more experienced fighter. Its not like Roy Nelson murdered him. Even Dana, who talked more crap about Kimbo than anyone, said Roy did just enough to win and didn't hurt Kimbo with those punches. Kimbo wouldn't be the only one that can't get Fat Country off him. Anyways, I think Kimbo is more suited for K-1 where its all strikes and no ground game.
As Rampage ranted about how big Nelson's gut was during shots of Kimbo training for the fight I looked over at by buddy and said "Nelson is going to win and the gut will be part of the reason" and sure enough the belly of terror ended up suffocating/crushing Kimbo. I thought Kimbo was going to win up until that part of the show last night. I really thought he was going to catch Nelson before they ended up on the ground.
What a disappointment, if Nelson gets any farther on other technicalities in the rules I'll be pretty mad. Though if Nelson wins like that again or in the finals, and Dana White refuses to sign him that'd be pretty funny. It would be a riot if people saw that kind of match in a live event. Kimbo sucked on the ground too. They foreshadowed it when they had a teammate mount him and Kimbo couldnt do anything. After that takedown, Nelson just glided into mount, and eventually gave that up for side control. Rampage continues to shine on this show, when he said that Kimbo'll lose his hands and wrist in that gut, and that its like holding back the blob, I was cracking up.
Yeah, you really can't hate Kimbo. He gets labeled as a 'thug' simply because he was a backyard brawler. He's actually gained a lot of respect from fans and fighters alike since taking part in TUF.
How did anything he did last night impress you. His ground game was nonexistent and he had to have known it going in; he should have let his hands fly with reckless abandon, instead he looked tentative to throw the entire fight: on the one occasion he did throw his footwork was not good enough to avoid what was basically a dazed fat guy falling into him which resulted in a takedown. Kimbo is a 35 year old brawler who for all his personality will probably never be anything more than the next Butterbean. His best options outside of opening a BBQ joint like Butterbean is touring the country knocking out the local drunks for whatever amount of measly cash that is worth.
