Agreed. I can't remember the last time I was super excited for a fight. Probably Weidman/Silva 2 or Brock vs Overeem. My epiphany although I'm sure many have already probably thought of this is that Bones' opponents have found themselves in most trouble when Jon takes them to the ground and he's able to control position and drop his bows and submit them. There's no way in hell Jones takes DC to the ground let alone keeps him there even if he somehow manages to get him there. This is the main reason why I think DC will win. That and Jones mediocre standup combined with DC's ability to close the distance. Plus DC isn't the type of fighter to just stand in front of his opponents like a lot of Bones past opponents. The ones that had the most success against him Gus and Machida were both good at the things I mentioned... Controlling distance and not standing in front of Jones.
This will be a great fight. There is a talent gap between 205 and HW and JBJ is the top dog at 205. He has been a dominant champ. Cormier is as legit as they come though being an olympic bronze (?) medalist and an undefeated HW with awesome and dominant wins (Bigfoot, Hendo, Big Country). I haven't been this pumped for a fight since GSP-BJ 2.
I'm so excited for this fight YET I don't want it to happen. Unlike the Bones haters, I'm still a Bones fan since day 1 but I also love watching DC fight. I hate that they have to go at it and they really dislike each other. Can't we(they) all just get along? Anyway, yeah I smell a Cormier upset over Bones.
That's a heckuva dream. Cocaine is a helluva drug! I keed, just weird you dream about fights that are to come in the future. Anyway, hopefully it will be a great and classic fight tonight.
Yeah Jones was going for all kinds of crazy ass sub attempts and transitions in my dream. He was even trying to do a leg scissor choke on Cormier too. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Fwpwu6IOT7g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This choke really sucks lol.
Jeez lol. I think that's a position one might have to tap out before it is even fully set or sunk in. As soon as the legs go over the head I think it's time to just tap out lol.
I am going guess a 35 year old dude isn't going to win, and ufc is just trying to hype this fight up. UFC PPV have been in the toilet lately.
astream tv You didn't miss anything. The first two fights went to decision, no KOs or submissions so far.
This is not a good card. All four fights of the PPV main card went to the judges' scorecards. I'm guessing the championship main event should have a finish, either a knockout or submission/tapout.
why does a fight have to have a finish for it to be good? in reality if a fight goes to the judges it was probably a good fight since nobody made any huge mistakes
