More MMA than just UFC, but ... I was going to post this a while back, but forgot to. Roger Gracie is about the kindest ass-kicker I've ever heard. He talks about how he approaches fighting and his match against Almeida which is considered to be one of the greatest matches probably in all MMA history. The interview is about 3 hours long, but it was still an awesome watch/listen to get into the mind of one of the great MMA/BJJ fighters.
Dana and the UFC are fucming stupid. He gets on this power trip and lowballs people before they say **** it. I’m glad they got Jones back but this model isn’t sustainable when people like Mighty Mouse we’re making 20K a fight and can do way better numbers overseas
That was a close fight and could have gone either way. Not sure who can beat Islam at this point. Volk made him look human but I still think Islam edged out on points, had more control and significant strikes. Islam's stand up defense just makes him unbeatable and his wrestling is insane. If Volk had a neck Islam chokes him out round 1.
I was at the event today, one of the most amazing atmospheres I have ever experienced. The noise for Volk and Della was out of this world. Was an amazing fight and both guys need to be applauded. Live I had it as a 48-47 win to Islam and thats coming from a huge Volk fan.
hes the GOAT for a reason. Gane is good, jon's mental game is on another level, every legend against him has said that. Hes getting a lot of **** for tapping, but Jon was about to snap that neck and wait any longer you're potentially paralyzed with damaged. It was a very smart tap
Looking at the HW division...Jones bout to really cement that GOAT status. Maybe Stipe has a shot but unless Ngannou comes back I don't see a real challenger for quiet some time. I mean I thought Gane would put up somewhat of a challenge. Stipe is well rounded enough to be a tough fight and Ngannou is not easy to take down and has pure KO power to win any fight... The rest of these guys are notes on his legacy.
