Khamzat Chimaev announced his retirement on his instagram page. It seems that he never recovered from his covid infection. He will probably go down as the biggest "what if?" in MMA history if he stays retired.
I was stunned when Adesanya accepted the fight against Blachowicz. Super risky matchup, given Blachowicz' size advantage and power. Jon Jones has been wise to avoid a fight like this for many years. If you are going to move up in weight class, make it against a good match up and make it a marquee fight. Nothing against Blachowicz, who is a great fighter and on a great streak, but he's not going to go down in history as a UFC great... he's already 38 y/o. The risk-reward was not good for Adesanya from the beginning.
It's weird to see you post outside of political trolling lol. I agree Izzy was already thin for a middleweight, he probably got the confidence to move up from the wins against Costa/Romero, but he shouldn't have. If Romero would have used his wrestling to take him down it would have gone very similar to the fight with Jan last night. Izzy should stay away from competent wrestlers with a strength advantage, unless he can somehow get his ground game and or muscle mass to another level.
