Maybe they'll both be on the Celtics next season.

Check the numbers. He’s middle of the pack in roll man defense. Our guards are among the league worst on ball handler in PNR defense

Let’s be honest here… Ime wouldn’t have made that comment if he felt like Sengun could hold it down at the 5. He saw things while watching tape that was concerning

Look I think if we get Wemby
A front line of: JABARI - SENGUN - WEMBY could work
Jabari and Wemby appear quick enough and long enough to do some disrupting
the only thing is they need a couple of years to get some weight on their bones

That is tall athletic and skilled front line

It sounded more like he was echoing Stone than anything else. But it also sounded like he expects to have Sengun on his team.

It’s more to do with there not being anyone that can block shots.
He complimented Alp, it’s more of a bad look for Garuba and other backups

It doesn't even mean he thinks Garuba is bad. Just that he is not the type of contrasting backup one would ideally want, to be able to react flexibly in-game. When you realize you need to spell Alpi and insert some big, high-jumping bruiser...we don't currently have that. We had Bruno, but he kinda sucked.

Just heard an interview with Udoka where he said he’s going to get Bruno back and start him over Sengun.

Kind of hard to imagine them even trying that, none of them really have any business playing the 3 and if you had Wemby and Smith, you'd want a quick, athletic lineup that can shoot....you know, the exact opposite of Sengun.

Honestly if Wemby is the pick, Sengun is gone before the season. He just doesn't fit.

As he had a great spell in Atlanta.

    Why not Gary Bird also?

    Udoka might start Nix-G.Matthews-E.Gordon-C.Wood-Bruno

I think Jabari can play the HORRY type 3
Hakeem - Thorpe - Horry was a strong front line

I know a different Era but still effective

It doesn’t mean Sengun is a goner, but he’s gonna have to step it up on D if he wants to stay long term. To me it really says that Sengun is gonna be fighting for minutes bc of his limitations. Like maybe he’ll play 15-20 now instead of 30

You'd still be slower, less athletic, and with less shooting than you'd want simply due to trying to jam a square peg into a round hole out of blind affection for Sengun.

Who are the front lines that frighten you in the NBA right now?

I doubt it. He’s the best all around offensive player on this team and Ime comes from the spurs system.
Having a defensive minded coach hold the entire team accountable will help.
The guards were far worse on defense than any of the bigs.
Alp is plenty athletic and long enough to play good defense, specially team defense.
He had quick hands and good timing. He just needs to get stronger

We shall see, I really doubt it. Ime is defense first and Sengun is gonna make it difficult, unless he’s a top 8 offensive player. Sengun doesn’t have any tools to be a good defender
