The Udoka knows Sengun lack of defense is a major problem

The poster you quoted had been anti-Sengun from the very start. Sengun could do nothing right for this guy. You are right about the simple-mindedness and obsession bordering on hate. It's sad especially now that the Rockets, and yes Sengun, have become one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Stop the hate!

 

Can you not read? The tweet you are responding to literally shows that Sengun did not "give up" 38 points against Joker. And are you saying Sengun "gave up" 19 rebounds? Does that mean Jokic "gave up" 15 rebounds to Sengun?

I swear, the anti-Sengun contingent do not seem like an intelligent bunch.

 

Last I checked, basketball is a team game that includes both offense and defense. Jokic is a special player, and the Udoka scheme was to let him do his thing while not helping Sengun while aimint to shut down his teammates. The plan worked and the final score speaks for itself. I wonder if any player has been able to stop Jokic in the past couple of years anyway?

Held the MVP to 14-31 shooting without any help. Not bad.

 

Senguns an ostrich. His neck can touch the rim. His torso is the size of muggys.

He will go to turkey for a hair transplant, pimple surgery and get them legs long.

Sengun out all of 2024 for this surgery. Sources are telling me.

It's really frustrating trying to debate these "anti-segun" posters. Just weak arguments that show a clear lack of basketball knowledge above looking at the box score.

 

I just re-read it too. There is a whole lot to cringe about reading so many bad takes. Some people are just clueless.

I dont think so. I know Ime uses Senugn like Al Horford on defense and that top-of-the-key-keep-em-honest 3 pointer on offense. But I'm not sure Ime has ever coached a player like Sengun. He is probably still workshopping what he can do with him.

you saw Ime was trying to get Brook Lopez who is closer to what he is accustomed to coaching.

It took 31 shots to get to 38 pts. In what word does that sound efficient? Jokic was dominant but he was rendered inefficient due to sengun's defense. If the man was efficient he could have carry his team alone to the dub.

Look at the Mavs game for example if u like box scoring so much. Jokic was uber efficient and the nuggets won vs mavs. It's not rocket science on how impactful sengun's defense was for our team vs jokic.

In an offense driven league and against the best player in the league, making Jokic inefficient is good defense. U can't stop a dominant player from scoring, u can only make his life harder to score and sengun did that well.

Within context, yes it was very impressive of Sengun.

 

To add to that, Udoka said in the post game that we essentially allowed Jokic to get his stats while we clamped down on everyone else on the floor. We weren't doubling Jokic hard at all.

The team executed a winning strategy. Good to see.

 

Ime was smirking while saying that, seemed very content and victorious.

 

Jokic took 31 shots though, holding him to 45% shooting percentage is not bad at all no?
