    Electoral college is a problem because it means that not all votes are created equal. Making it a popular vote simplifies things, and helps us avoid another year 2000. It also GREATLY changes how political candidates would spend their money.

    The author kind of lost me off the bat with that statement. EC is painfully outdated and almost impossible to defend. The major parties like it because it simplifies their campaigns, and that's about the only reason I can figure for it lingering around like mold.

    This is true, because they know right off the bat which states they need to focus on. Like a Republican knows he shouldn't dump any advertising dollars in to California...

    This is one reason I like getting rid of the EC, it helps put a kink in the campaigns massive spending plans.
