No, I think some people just worry that it will give the refs freedom to let players take even more steps. It all depends on how the refs are instructed and how they will call the game after the rule change. If nothing changes, it probably is a non-issue. If it does, then they have a legit gripe. I do think that the NBA is too loose at traveling calls, including palming. Players like LeBron is already getting away with lots of 3-steps (sometimes even 4-steps) going to the hoop. Relaxing traveling calls rewards the more athletic and aggressive players and penalizes the more controlled and skill-based type players.
