This is hilarious. You say you want a serious discussion and you want people to back it up with facts and yet, you don't care about stats?

How does that work exactly? What other concrete facts are there besides stats?

So many people here have showed you proof that you're statements are incorrect. That your observations are flawed.

And yet, you dismiss it all with a, "I don't care about stats."

    That's very convenient.

Totally agree. Your first post discuses people.

The truth will hurt- you thought you know basketball while you know nothing about it.

I hate it when people say Yao can't block shots. He averages 2 a game. How many in the league average that. And as for defense, when was the last time you shot over someone 7'6''?

You obviously know nothing about the game of basketball. When Aaron Brooks starts we are 6-1 & the 1 loss was a very close game. How many times did I want to throw the remote through the TV when Rafer would drive the lane & miss wide open layups??!!! The guy couldn't finish to save his life. Aaron & Kyle are both great at finishing drives in the lane. I am so glad we don't have to watch the stupid***ed tear drop that fell like 1 out of 9 times.
Yao Ming is a beast of a center & ONLY Dwight is in the same playing field as Yao. He will benefit from Rafer not pulling up to shoot 3's unsuccessfully, when Yao was perfectly positioned under the goal. Good bye Rafer hello AB!!

Nice post. People really overrate Rafer's contribution and underestimate the ability of an athletic player to break down the defense and penetrate

If Alex is caring about this team’s future, then Alston shouldn’t be the one to leave. At least he is an average PG, he works well with Yao and other mates. tmac should leave anyway, I know it may hurts at first, but it worth a try, however, Alston left, that also gives everybody a hint, “don’t mess up with tmac, or you will be the next one.”

stop showing you elementary school math, you are the one who know nothing about basketball games, there are much more happening on the court than those numbers. I know Nash and Kidd are both good shooters, but do you know what's the 1st priority of a point guard? It's passing! dude.

dumb statement, TMac staying keeps us in the 2010 free agent class. His $23 mil comes off the books. Kyle is an upgrade & Aaron was an upgrade over Reefer anyway.

I agree AB should be our starting PG, and I supported getting rid of Rafer. The point I made is that he will be more valuable for the Magic.

I do think AB will help out Yao a little bit, and this is why I think he will: His 3 point shooting will stretch the defense (away from Yao obviously). His ability to drive will also draw that double team away from Yao. I could see a lot of other teams be like "Hey lets leave Rafer open, we can let him beat us" I cannot see too many teams say the same thing about AB.

Aaron Brooks, believe it or not, will be a huge part of our success or failure for the remainder of this season. I will be pulling for him. Imagine he turns out close to an AI kind of guy (not saying he will be just saying what if). We could do a lot of damage the rest of this year, surprise a few teams, and it will convince Ron to return. We return our whole team from this season for next season, along with whatever we get in return for Tracy McGrady, or flat out Tracy McGrady. I think people are very outraged with how he handled this season, but before this season, I don't really see much of a problem with his character and our team. Kobe had a huge hissy fit in LA a few years back and look at him now- I wouldn't give up on Tracy just yet. Although I think it will be a lot more beneficial for us to send him out, especially if we resign Artest. Any team with Battier and Artest starting has a solid chance of winning.

Guys, it's time to stop feeding the troll.

This is the part where you say "Ok. Whatever you say", then go back to eating your cheerios.

he probably meant scorer... I think his point was Rafer did a good job in every aspect of the game aside from his shot selection- he just shot too much and was way too inconsistent. And I agree, you cannot argue that he turned the ball over too much or wasn't a good passer. At times he wasn't awesome on defense, but I would say he is above average compared to other point guards on defense in teh NBA.

Maybe the problem is, we need a scoring PG. Artest isn't an elite scorer, Battier is very limited on the offensive end. So we need a scoring guard.

He has to look for something to complain about, so when the stats don't favor his complaints they suddenly don't mean anything to him.

man where are all these suck posts coming from?...Rafer prob will do well in orlando we may regret it but we will still make the playoffs...

RA is an excellent coach...just look how many games we've won with tmac out with him as a coach vs when JVG was a coach

We probably could use Tmacs caliber skills but we don't need what he is bringing to the table...better off w/o him at this point

Artest is a solid player that brings aggressive offense/defense...the real effects he brings are yet to be determined but one fact is win or lose we wont' question the effort put foward by our stars like when tmac is in the game

if shawn bradley could play as well as Yao he'd start...if Yao sucked he would be loosely guarded near FT jumper range like other worthless centers...if Yao sucked he wouldn't be doubled teamed. But i guess he's just doubled teamed because he's a minority. Solid logic..two thumbs up for you

I agree with Ron being overrated as of now.

He's doing a bit better recently, but I think it wont matter when he walks off in a few months anyways..

BTW, when he was with the Pacers, and they had all their guys, that was the best team in the NBA (arguably)... They probably would have contended for a few championships if Ron wasn't such a nutcase.
