Really, T-Mac is not a superstar? I beg to differ..
The talent/numbers/elevated level of play/similar stats to other superstars prove otherwise..
Just a question, if you don't see Yao as a superstar, wouldn't that further prove that T-Mac has been "leading" us to victories in the past. Because, God knows there was no "team-ball" when JVG was around.
But honestly, not even the point I was making with this thread. Again, the point is, Tracy's importance in the playoffs is undeniable, and necessary for this team to advance
Yeah, but when you have a talent like McGrady's, the team would be stupid not to use it...
And, they aren't. They are doing exactly what is necessary by putting him in a position to succeed within the lineup
The inner workings of human psychology at its finest.
The guy has gone through a bad stretch. Give him till the end of the season at least before you pass judgement..
Don't forget, we still have Yao and Artest..
Unless you can get a talent that would be a better fit for our team... Preferably one that plays with passion....
We have had ZERO play off success with TMac or Yao so I'm not sure what victories you are refering to. If you are talking about regular season success then you should know that it does not take superstars to get wins in the regular season. Like I said. Maybe I am just spoiled by watching true superstars....Dream and Moses. To players that could put a team on their backs for an entire series. STATS do not make a superstar.
No one doubts his years of individual brilliance but this year he has been terrible, If he can play like the T-mac of even 2-3 yrs ago the Rockets can do something in the playoffs but if he plays like the T-mac of this year he is going to lose again.
Well Yao and TMac both got voted to the all star game by the fans. Yao deserved it...TMac did not. BTW, the all star game is not a berometer for who is the best or most deserving players. The fact that Yao was voted as the all star starter when Shaq was winning titles and clearly superior to Yao is all the proof we need. I like your sig. Truer words were never spoken or written.
you can't compare Tmac to Kobe or Lebron in last years playoff cause he only played against one team and only in SIX games. That's the truth!
maybe its true that dream or moses its the better superstar cause i wasn't around for that era,but serious, not ever superstar is the same or can dominated like that. Also not every one has the same meaning of superstar. But tmac has put the team on his back couples b4( talking about playoff) but now the nba its just too good, one super star cant carry the whole now and days, maybe lerbon, but his case its different.
You just proved the point. A marginal player like Robert Horry can win 5 rings because he's had a great team. McGrady has been a huge underdog every year except 06', and that year his team, inlucing Yao, completely disapeared. You have to have a team backing the stars. What's great about this year is that hopefully we'll have Yao to be the main go to guy keeping McGrady more fresh, not to mention Artest. The point hamza was making about team ball is that if your focus is on running motion offense without the use of big stars is that it can be very hard to suceed with that in the playoffs. If your playing a really good defensive team that can spend 2 and a half weeks disecting you and your schemes they can find ways to exploit you. That's when you need stars like Yao and Tmac to take a brunt of the action. Then when the defenses over correct to stop them they can get your teamates going. McGrady has a tough year so far, but judging him by his playoff losses when he was almost always on the inferior team, and by a period he's playing injured and in and out of the lineup is blind and ignorant. Give him time to find his legs and use this great team he's got. But defer to Yao first please
missing the point of the thread, the op is trying to prove that tmac is important to the rockets playoff run.
