the "truth" on Lin is that he's 24 year old player who's ranking 89 so far this year in winshare, so he's about lower 3rd starter value so far, he's also coming off an injury, and has only about the total minutes in his career of a early 2nd year player, what do you make out of that?

it's basically "he's decent now, with potential to get better"

    that's all there really is.

I'll throw a list of players who's winshare / WS48 is in very similar range of Lin, and some names may shock you.

    Joe Johnson
    Gorgan Dragic
    Omer Asik
    JR Smith
    Andre Igudala
    OJ Mayo
    Greg Monroe
    JJ Redick
    Shawn Marion
    Loul Deng

This is good news. Because in the post season Lin needs to be able to hit 3's. I was worried that this is one of the weaknesses other teams would try to exploit.

I think Lin will be fine taking jumpers. I'm more worried about aggressive double teaming/trapping of our guards come playoff time.

Also that is where Parson comes in. He can shoot 3, or cut, but please don't let him drive....

Ironically, Asian "supporters" assert that "the system" is totally in control and Asians themselves have no responsibility for their fates. But I never really heard of ANY Asian parents who approved of pro basketball as a career choice. Maybe Asian-Americans (or their parents) choose their own paths? If more Asians than whites go to college (per capita)--some of the UC schools are more than 40% Asian--is that anti-white racism on the part of "the system"?

Yes, unfairness exists in the world. I think the Rockets board is the last place to talk about anti-Asian bias though. The Rockets organization and fans treated Yao Ming as a hero. I talk about noobs and LOF's because newcomers act as if we at Clutchfans haven't been through this for years with Yao Ming. This is not an anti-Asian team or fan base! We are the home of Yao Ming!

Now, hundreds if not thousands of people joined Clutchfans recently only because of Lin's race. So it's not surprising that they come fill the board with race talk, totally oblivious to the fact that we had Yao here for his whole career.

You may be surprised to know that being a white straight male doesn't earn you ****, by the way. As if you just need to be white to get a free pass to the White House. Or just need to be black to start in the NBA. And I wouldn't be surprised at all if Lin has made a lot of extra money because of his race. He's a success story: what are you b****ing about?

And speaking of the draft, why is no one mentioning Parsons being drafted so low? No anti-white racism at work?

Life is unfair. OK, we got it. If you're ugly, that's not helpful. Being white, female, black, gay, whatever can be an advantage or disadvantage. Can we just say "life is not fair" and move on? The Rockets fan base really deserves a pass on the anti-Asian stuff.

Quite well-said. Don't think Lin can be an all-star either.

On the other hand, nobody in the NBA can be a superstar without being good on defense. Thus, given Harden's lack of defense, it is doubtful that Harden can be a super star. He can be like Glenn Robinson, or Melo type of a player. So rocket team could be good, but not that good to challenge for the top 4. I bet fans will get disappointed as time goes on as most people will realize it.

The critics focus on Lin's state month by month that is already crazy.
Now I see a more trolling one.

    RealGM Ny Knicks on Lin:

man, dropping 21 on top notch competition like the T-Wolves really means alot.

especially coming after all those sub 35% shooting games he's had all season. Man. What a sensation. And he's only 25?? Damn. Most guys dont blossom until 32. Lin will definitely become the next John Nash Stockton-Paul.

dont be mad at his success and improving at almost every area of his game

imagine that a player who improves unlike the players we have who seem to get worse

I dare you to post this when he shoots 33% for the next 3 games. LMAO @ "improving" because he had a good game against the gotdamn tanking T-Wolves.

I used to be excited whenever Lin has a great game. But then inevitably he would suck the next game. I think this has basically happened for the entire season. He is so ******* inconsistent it's mind-numbling.

When Jeremy Lin has a game where he scores 15 or more points, only twice has he been able to keep it up. 4-game streak in December where he score 15+ points in each game. Then a 2-game stretch where he scored 20 and 19 points. Every other team, his scoring would drop below 15 the next game.

It's annoying because after one of his "breakout" games, I would get excited and think he's going to build on that success, build that momentum, and inevitably he would almost always dud the next one.

I wish Lin would go out the circyle you mentioned above, since it's too important to win next game against GSW

I believe Lin cycles because he usually does not play as well in the end of back to back games. Thats partly due to Lin's stamina, and partly due to McHale's up tempo offense. But remember the Rockets would not be where they are in the standings if not for McHale's up tempo offense.
