Bosh is criminally underated on this board. He is a borderline superstar and the Rockets would absolutely trade Lowry and Scola for him. He is a much much better player than Luis Scola.
Lol at comparing Scola to Bosh. People keep saying Morey needs to land a star, but then do not want all star players when they are brought up. Pau Gasol? Pass. Chris Bosh? Pass. If you honestly think Scola is as good as either of those two, I really don't know what to say. I mean who are we really after that is attainable? Dwight Howard? Lebron James? L
Tough call. Bosh would prove his worth when not playing 3rd Star behind The Two Egos, but McHale seems to like bigs who are either great passers from the high post or bangers down low (post gay jokes here). Also, when is Llull coming over? He could be our Spanish Lowry replacement. But we'll need about $4 million yearly for his salary to help offset his buyout. And, lame as it sounds, you might want to keep Scola as an enticement for Llull to make the jump to the NBA and instead concentrate on bettering the center position. Who am I kidding? If he could get an All Star, Morey'd sell his own grandmother down the river, C.O.D.
Yes, that's what I figured. Hence my wishful thinking....pay him enough so the buyout won't kill him (all things considered, money won't be wasted on this guy). I keep trying to think of a team in the EC that needs/wants Lowry, where he wouldn't mind playing. Miami would qualify. Philly, of course. Maybe Boston.
Give away both our two leaders for that guy? Bosh would be the Carlos Lee of this team. Highest paid, veteran, should be a leader but just kinda goes through the motions.
Heat don't need Lowry with LBJ and Wade there. They need a spot-up guy who doesn't need to handle the ball that much. Derek Fisher in his prime is what they would be looking for, or a Brian Shaw type. Doubt they'd be interested.
Exactly. Why would the Heat need another ball-handler when they already have the 2 best on the planet? His value to the Heat would be way less than Bosh's.
Lowry is actually a very useful player off the ball, because he provides value in a lot of different ways on the court. He is a plus defender, he's great at knocking down the open three from range, he rebounds exceptionally well for a point guard (probably even better if he's more focused on that on offense). That said, I don't know if Miami breaks up their big three. It depends on how they perform in the playoffs. If they have a very disappointing playoff run, they just might.
I think you nailed it. Bosh is better than Scola period. Luis and KLow to Miami would be realistic IMO. The Heat need a point guard and KLow would be a perfect fit on that team. Luis is skilled enough to keep the Heat very productive at the PF position as well. This scenario actually makes since for both teams.
Lowry is an outstanding point guard and as we know he can score and get to the line but he also effects the game in many ways that do not even turn up in the stat sheet.
I would do this trade. Bosh is completely misused in that system. On the Raptors he was a top 10 player in the league. And we've got guys like Camby, Dalembert, and Parsons to complement Bosh well. It would suck handing over Miami's championship in 2013, but we've got to get better somehow, and it sure as hell beats handing over the Lakers the championship.
