Trading Battier and Scola is the last resort. I love shane battier and luis scola. No way i'll give them up for Blake, outlaw and pryzbilla. The players that i think should be traded or expendable are SF3, MJ, Head, Snyder and T-Mac. YES T-Mac!
[bill walton] WORST trade proposal in the history of modern day Western Civilization. What is he thinking?!? [/bill walton]
I'd do that trade, doubt that Portland will.. Portlands on a winning streak and wont trade their main pieces right now. Outlaw is having 20+ point games the last few games too.
Here are a few trades I would suggest: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=976~497&teams=12~10&te=&cash= http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...10~3192~2763~2445&teams=10~28~28~28&te=&cash= Bonzi would start in this scenario: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=976~2010&teams=28~10&te=&cash= http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...11~2763~3018~2445&teams=10~20~20~20&te=&cash=
The Random Trade thread disappeaed with age. Battier is the only Rocket with a big enough contract that we could use to get a starter quality player. The remainder of our contracts are in the $1M to $3M range -- good for pairing with Battier to go after a decent player. This is assuming the team with a tradable, decent player wants Battier. That leaves very few options.
If NJ were to trade away Kidd and Jefferson they would not want anyone on our team except young prospects (which we have none) or expire contracts.
Portland are not going to do that trade, they are not going to start adding role players until they see how Oden fits their team. They also don't need to shed bad contracts since their owner is not a scrooge, and all their bad contracts will expire in time for them to sign their future, roy/oden/lemarcus. Also, their biggest need is at point guard, and if they do trade webster/outlaw, it will be for a big time point guard, they don't need battier or scola since they have better players at both positions. makes no sense for portland this trade.
can we get delonte west? i played w/ the trade machine today, we only have to give up Kirk Sydner. He is a fast PG who can shoot 3s.
okay, okay, I have another idea... a 3-way trade: Houston sends Kirk Snyder and Steve Novak to Sacramento, and a future 2nd-round draft pick, Steve Francis, and the Chuchwagon to the Lakers & in return Sacramento gets Lamar Odom, and the Rockets get: Ron Artest, Mike Bibby, and Kobe Bryant, and a future 1st-round pick from both the Lakers AND the Kings... oh yeah, and the Rockets send a future 2nd-round pick and Mike James to Cleveland in exchange for Labron James. The aforementioned scenario is just about as rediculous as the one that started this thread... but it'd be a whole lot cooler "my cat's breath smells like cat food"
Remember Tree Rollins? What's the cat doing these days? I figured maybe the Rockets could pay him several million to come out of retirement and add to their already disappointing season... ... or maybe the Rockets could employ Pete Maravich's corpse, which, I believe, would handle the ball better than the Rockets' existing backcourt.
How about anybody for Damon Stoudamire. We've been trying to get him here for years, but trade talks always break down. He's kind of old now, but would be an upgrade over James and Francis. He still shoots pretty good and is a natural PG.
TOPFIVE'S TRADE-CHECKER: Steve Blake/Joel Przybilla/Travis Outlaw FOR Shane Battier/Luis Scola/Kirk Snyder TRADE r****dED. Why the Portland Trail Blazers want to do this trade: Because just thinking about it gives them a stiffy. Their GM would show up for this trade carrying a tube of K-Y. Why the Houston Rockets want to do this trade: Let's just pray they don't.
