magic have no leverage...They should have made a trade b4 Lopez was signed...The Rockets are the only team who can and are willing to take their bad contracts...what are they going to do? wait till January 15? and pay all that money? Trade rape is imminent
Alright so most of you guys will build the franchise around Andrew Bynum? Do you see Bynum winning is championships?
Actually we have 4 choices. This year, the only 2 major players "worth" going hard after are Bynum & Howard. 3 of the choices are consences packages of what it'd take to get B or H. The last choice is to get neither & go with what we have. If we can get B or H without giving up Montie or Lamb, I'm all for it. However, I don't think that's possible, so I want to go with what we have.
Pretty obvious most are burned out on the Diva and Orlando's rediculous expectations. We have held on to our new guys long that I would just assume keep them.
Martin + 2Pat + Morris + Picks = Dwight + Richardson + (Davis / Duhon) it works out for both of us. they dump most of the bad contracts and we keep our youngsters. Lin / Duhon Lamb / Richardson Parson / Jones Donuts / Davis Dwight / Asik Seems like a Good team this year. and next year sign someone else at 5 as a backup and let Asik start.
I would support this trade. It would crimp our space for another FA next year, but I think we would be competitive. Plus, if Dwight starts talking about leaving anyway - S-n-T, baby!
We should only have to give up one of our draft picks from the 2012 draft; either White or Jones. If we were getting Howard with 2 years left on his contract? Ok, then we'd need to start considering throwing them Lamb. But we're taking all the risk with this rental. We shouldn't have to give up the farm for him. We need Lamb and D-Mo to help convince Dwight this is the place to be.
I agree. and i am not sure maybe Bima or someone could explain if Howard SnT does he still loose money or no. he can loose money if he doesn't sign with the same team correct.
True but keep in mind our 4s are undersized (or play undersized like PPat) other than Montiejunas who is a 7 footer with loads of skill (rare). Meanwhile, score-only SGs are not that hard to find and even if you can't find one, are they really that valuable (look at the constant debate over Martin's value to our win total)? Lamb could very well break out and become a 20+ PPG scorer who actually plays decent defense and maybe even lock-down defense for stretches (like Kobe) but I'm still not sure that makes him more valuable than Motiejunas if he goes on to put up 16/8 or better as I believe he will.
