I'm surprised Fran Fine (a.k.a. Fran Drescher) wasn't on that list...to me she is one of the worst ever characters. That voice! *shudder*
Hey, Keanu Reeves was in the best movie of the eighties: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Of course, he's kinda reprised that role ever since. I can't believe anyone still remembers Jesse Camp. He liked the Crue, so he's aight with me. How is Carson Daly not on this mug?
Gawd, Family Matters was one of the worst shows ever. Urkel was actually the ONLY funny thing about that show. The rest of the cast had the personality of a piece of sheetrock. Urkel was originally supposed to be a one week guest, but they soon found out that he was the one carrying that show, or it would have been axed after a season and a half. The Olsen twins were the only annoying part of Full House. Dave Coulier is funny, and anybody that has seen Bob Saget's old Stand up knows he's funny, but his crude humor had to be toned down for Full House. John Stamos wasn't all that funny, but he worked well with Coulier and Saget. Lori Loughlin (sp) and Candace Cameron were both in my spank bank at the time, so it didn't matter if they were annoying. That chick that played Stephanie went against the norm and became slightly more annoying as she got older, but overall she was OK. The worst TV character ever was that annoying tird Seven in Married with Children. He came this close to ruining that show for me.
Is Martha Stewart somewhere between 26 and 50? Something about her just don't seem to be "Living." And how about Barbara Walters, Ted Koppel, Louie Anderson, Gene Shalot, Jim Belushi, and that "Blu Blockers rapper" -wasn't it "Geek?" Locally - Mattress Mac, Marvin Zindler, Rich Lord, Giff Neilsen & the "That's a F.A.C.T." guy. Some people's "trademark mannerisms" are downright nightmarish.
Rosanne. Character or real life, doesn't matter. I will crash through brick walls to get to a remote if she ever appears on my tv screen.
The funny thing about this list of "worst characters" is that I have vivid memories of most of them, even from shows that I only saw as a kid (the ones I don't remember are from shows I never watch). What that tells me is that, as characters, they are actually probably some of the best created because they were good enough to be notable and have longevity. They may be annoying characters, but not bad ones.
No Gem....quite possibly the worst animated character ever. No the 14th kid with special powers given to him by strange meteor rocks from the planet krpton. No Paulie Shore as himself in futurama. No the Black female baliff in Night Court. She did nothing for the show.
This list should have included the following: Screech ("Saved By the Bell") The Flying Nun Cody (from that show with Suzanne Somers and Patrick Duffy) Vicky the Robot (from "Small Wonder") The entire cast of "Boy Meets World" Moesha Kennedy (from MTV) Jessica Fletcher (did anyone ever notice that wherever she went, someone died) Matlock and the most irritating characters of all time . . . . Balkie and Cousin from "Perfect Strangers."
That was honestly my least favorite sitcom ever. I can't even watch it without just getting pissed off. I've never once laughed at that show!
