This seriously makes me want to abandon Conan. WTF is the joke? At first the joke was the year 2000 was only a few years away. Then the joke was the year 2000 was already passed. Now the skit makes no sense whatsoever. Man that freaking reeks of "focus group" craptastic ideas.
I agree and thought it was a little forced. No big deal. It's one skit that'll probably die out and be replaced by something better. Conan still rules! Oh and I thought the Kareem appearance was awkward. It started it out OK but I thought they would allow Kareem to say something instead of just standing there like a statue. Kareem's done a couple of movies in his day, including a comedy. They should have been able to fit in a one liner or two. Something other than having him just stand there.
this seems like a bit of an overreaction. I thought it was mildly amusing. Last night's show wasn't as good as the first two, but it was still better than anything Leno has ever done. I plan to keep watching

I've tried to give Conan a chance but aside from a few chuckles here and there he's not that funny. I just cant get into it and it doesn't take a lot to make me laugh.

Stop being so overly analytical about the year 3000 skit. It's a comedy sketch, doesn't have to be 100% accurate with science. I don't understand how people expect to enjoy themselves when they can't even relax watching tv.

I thought the way they transitioned from 2000 to 3000 was great with Andy chastising Conan for being lazy for never changing the name once they actually got beyond 2000.
i did giggle to myself at the thought of one skit making someone completely give up on a guy. Especially one who has such a long track record of great skits. I wonder if the masterbating bear will appear...
Exactly. 2000 or 3000 is just a premise to deliver a whole bunch of one-liners about celebrities, pop culture, etc. Talk about missing the whole point.
I thought they retired the masturbating bear? he was awsome though. They really should put Pierre in more skits. That guy is hilarious to look at.
