That was brutal. If the media plays this it's going to hurt McCain bad - Obama just tore him a new one.

Obama hit that out of the park but for his part McCain threw him a hanging slider.

Somebody quickly photoshop McCain's head onto Brad Lidge's Astros-era body.

This is in no way deserving of a thread. There exists a thread in which we are talking about Obama's mockery of an energy plan.

Some of these Obama supporters who are very obviously new to politics have a severe case of thread starting diarrhea.

The fact that Obama is trying to defend the tire gauge comment simply proves that it has very much hurt him in the court of public opinion. Advantage Republicans.

Never thought I'd see you open a post that way. I wouldn't exactly call Obama's remarks defensive; I'd say they're more "a thrashing". And funny.

By the way, how does it feel to be voting for the "gas tax holiday"?

Rough day for you, but you can continue to take pride in your ignorance.

Love the 1:40 mark of that video where he calls people 'ignorant'.

Just adding to his elitist/snobbish credentials... Isn't it a shame that he has to get dirty and talk to these lowlifes who don't eat arugula and have never had a private chef prepare them a tuna tartare?

I don't understand why you are so hard on Cindy McCain? Just because she's super rich and can afford to eat an elite healthy diet doesn't make her bad.

How do you figure? He said yet again in that clip that properly inflating everyone's tires would conserve more oil than the amount that can be acquired through offshore drilling. This is patently false.

Look, if Obama wants to promote this tire inflating idea as part of a comprehensive plan to conserve energy, that's well and good. But he's not doing that. He's saying that it can serve as a total substitute for oil from offshore drilling. That's untrue and it's very dangerous if he's really basing his energy policy on this type of misinformation.

Did you find evidence that the Energy Dept numbers are false? If not, please stop repeating this made up claim.

I think you are not understanding what he is saying correctly.

He's simply saying what individual Americans can do to help out. Not what his energy policy should be. And he's pointing out that Americans can do more by vehicle maintainence and conserving that John McCain's ideas which won't work until another 30 years.

Obama's giving an individual how to save now and help the country, McCain is offering ways to help big oil and maybe help us in 30 years.

    See the difference?

Number one the facts have been presented that it isn't false.

Number two he isn't at all saying that it is a substitute for all offshore drilling.

You asked before and were given a direct link to Obama's extensive and comprehensive energy policy proposals.

The question is what could individuals do to help. Obama mentioned the tire stuff. And unless you find some data to suggest otherwise, the data indicates that what Obama is saying is correct. Nascar agrees, Bush's own energy policy personnel agrees, and the facts show that it can save far more than new offshore drilling.

In addition Obama was absolutely right when he pointed out that McCain's folks mocking the tire gauge, was like them being proud of being ignorant since the facts are that it does help.

Did he say offshore drilling? He said inflating everyone's tires would conserve more oil than the amount that can be acquired wherever Mccain drills in the ground underneath him. So he was talking about drilling in ANWR.
