Whats even greater about Hakeem is that he is an amazing person off the basketball court. Not much allstar ball players can say that.

great thread lee. I wish I had seen Dream kicking ass live.. I was just too young at that time.. started watching nba only in 2002..

was dream more of a work horse or a skilled-effortless type of player?

If it was no for his many injury Yao could be great like Dreams. But Dream is better.

What a great player he was, such a privelidge to watch him play, and cheer for him.

I love Yao, but never in a million years would Yao have been as good as Dream, he is just not the athlete that Hakeem was....Yao is good in his own right when healthy, but he is a few notches below Hakeem.....always was, always will be.

Some recent news on the Dream...although their fact-checker needs to be fired.

That's because he's not a self promoter. He doesn't care what casual people say about him.

If that doesn't bring a tear to your eye every time you see it, you do not bleed Rocket Red!!!!

Still amazing watching those old highlights.

Moves like a modern Swingman, in a near 7 foot frame.

God he was incredible, thanks for posting.

Rodman wrote in his biography that Davids was shaking before the game against Hakeem.
    I believe him.

You know it is has been about a year since I have seen this video last and yeah, I am tearing up! Hakeem was amazing. He and Clyde were the reason I started watching basketball at U of H and then of course as a Rocket getting his championships.

Hakeem performance was legendary and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

I got tears in my eyes. That just brought back some great memories.
He moves so smoothly and gracefully. Still in awe after all these years.

Edit: I forgot to add about his overall stats. Not just scoring but his assists, blocks, and steals. Such quick hands for a big man. Just incredible.

Not that I don't love Dream of course, but hearing Calvin was the highlight of that video... miss him. :(
