My main concern with Redding is how he will have so many of these 3 or 4 inning starts. That wears out our bullpen and then causes our other starters to have to pitch more.

I would rather have him have a 4.50 era and consistently get 6 or 7 innings. He needs to throw fewer pitches, but not down the middle!

Actually, Redding only threw 85 pitches last night. So it's certainly not a pitch count problem. I found it pretty strange that Jimy didn't leave him in for the 7th. But then again, Jimy always had the quick hook.

I kind of wish Jimy would spread out the bullpen duties a little more. Don't want Lidge to break down again like at the end of the last season. We really need him for the playoffs.

I don't know about ya'll, but when I watch Redding I can't help but think of Schilling when he was with the Stros.

For many pitchers, it takes them years to settle down and learn to pitch. Could this be the thing with Redding? He obviously does have some strong stuff. The mental aspect is what is killing him now.
