In light of the recent developments regarding Arena's and Tmac's careers, is it far-fetched to believe that Tim can have the same effect on Steve Francis? After all, he is a FA. I refuse to believe that Francis' time has come and gone, he is only 32. I still believe that with some hard work he can come back and do some damage for another 2-3 years. He loves Houston and would love to come back to play for this team if given the opportunity. What do you guys think?
Season hasn't even started yet, lets see how Gilbert and T-Mac do on the court this year before judging the "Grover effect"
What makes you believe this? You're saying Lowry/Barry have a better skill set than Francis? Also to those of you who believe he isn't a hard worker...do you have insider news on him? Where does this belief come from?
1. Was Steve healthy enough to be working out with Tim Grover this Summer? 2. If the answer to #1 is Yes, then why wasn't Steve doing that?
I think SF3 should have worked with Tim Grover. Even just for Grover's reputation! People don't believe SF3 now. No team wants to give him a chance to play on the court. Grover's reputation might bring him a chance.
This is exactly what I'm saying. I haven't heard anything negative impacting his career besides the two injuries he has had. I'm sure Grove would help him come back from that quad injury and aid with the tendinitis problem. I'd rather have a PG situation where Francis and Brooks are sharing time.
Ever since Francis got the miraculous amount of money from NY for doing nothing, I believe he lost his "gym rat" mentality. His injury recovery required a very high level of work that I don't believe he did. It's hard to sacrifice, when you've already gotten success without sacrificing. TMac had something to prove. He has a huge stigma hanging around his neck, of never getting out of the first round. He wants a title, he wants rep, he wants more money. He had motivation ... I don't think Francis does ...
Not sure if there are problems, just recall some whispers that he likes to partake and party into the late night. DD
I agree. We dog Tmac so much but if the man has any pride at all he's gotta be working hard to make up for past misfortune. If Francis wanted it as bad, we'd at least hear him putting his name out there more often.
With that being said I don't think he has the work ethic to come back. He depended too much on his athleticism to be effect at his current age anyways.
