Has there ever been a 2nd round pick that was ROY?

Is this a serious post? They're going to trade their big free agent acquisition that they just signed to a 5 year contract? Logical.

Yes! Woody Sauldsberry - Philadelphia Warriors 1957-58
    60th pick ....LOL ... I know, I know.

Other than that- Mark Jackson was 18th pick 1st round in 1987-88
After that ROY goes to 1st - 7th Pick of the draft.

I find it ironic that this phrase would ever be used by anyone to reference a Rocket, "He’s just so smooth that sometimes it’s elusive to see how effective he really is." Don't we ridicule and blast you know who for this as well???

I've been trying to keep my excitement for Chase contained. It's easy to draft someone and expect or want them to succeed instantly. As I was reading the article I was thinking I hope CB becomes a better defender by learning from Shane and Ariza; Then got to the part where Chase was picking Shane's brain. That's what gets me excited about CB. I'm really starting to believe that CB can be a big contributor in this league and cannot wait to see him develop. I'm really excited to see our guys grow up and grow together this year. Lets get this thing started already!

I am only hoping he can become Rashard Lewis of Rockets.

Man, Rockets really screw up the 1998 draft.
But on the other hand, if Rockets did not screw up 1998 draft, they won't have the 2002 1st pick :D

Good read, got scared in the beginning.

couldn't help but get flashbacks of those dumb song lyrics Fran used to write to describe games in the beginning.

I agree with DD on the writing being better, more descriptive and entertaining.

I think he should watch Dirk play and try to develop some of his moves. This kid has a lot of the tools needed to be an above average player in this league.

Jason Friedman is the MVP of Houston beat writers! :p

We should let Tmac's contract expire after this year and just sign Jason!

If he turns into a Peja or a Brent Barry, he will be a great pickup.

"Smooth jazz" is an oxymoron. That's easy listening with a tiny bit of jazz or funk thrown in, played by guys who weren't good enough or dedicated enough to play real jazz.

There's GOT to be a better nickname for Chase than that ugly moniker.

My favorite thing about Chase is that he's TRYING to improve. The guy knows his weaknesses, and knows what he needs to do to stick with the team and get that big contract. As long as he works on his game, he can stick in the NBA for 10+ years easy given his smooth stroke.

Btw, people should click on the link because we need to support Jason Friedman, the best Rockets writer in the world.
