And that is when VSpan is good. He has the ability to drive and pass the ball to the open guy once the defense collapse on him. At least he has shown good potential for doing that.
I just can not have a final judgement on him when he has only played 5 minutes on games that have been decided and with the other scrubs on the team. I will be conviced he is not the solution to this problem, after I see him playing the point with the other starters.

i dont know if any of yall were at the game, but i wonder if those high school kids, shooting at halftime, could beat rafer in that same competition

We really need to upgrade before the trade deadline. I think our guard play in 05' was a big part on why we almost beat Dallas in that series. I don't see that happening with Rafer crumbling under pressure.

the problem with our decision making and shot selection stems from our guards.

rafer and luther make bad choices down the stretch. i know both of them have hit clutch shots, but with better decision making and shot selection you might not be in a possition to need a clutch shot.

the answer here (IMO) is to find a vet PG who can handle 24MPG in the playoffs. i would've loved atkins or stoudamire but i doub't we make a 3rd deal with memphis this year.

Spanoulis is the best PG on the team, go ahead flame away at me, but it will be proven true.

I believe management is loosing patience with JVG on this.

Spanoulis is clearly a better PG than Lucas, Head, or Alston yet he doesn't even play.

I really can't tell is this is sarcasm? But either way we need a backup pg bad.

Not true, I never used that as a way to prop up Rafer, I simply feel Rafer is better than James.

If you would pay closer attention to my posts I have NEVER called for Alston to start, I have ALWAYS maintained he was a 6th man type gunner off the bench.

    ALWAYS.

I have ALWAYS called for Spanoulis to play and start at PG and stick to it DESPITE being endlessle flamed for it.

I have also ALWAYS steadfastly claimed that Sura on one leg is better than any of them plus James.

And am one of the few who has held out hope and rooting for him to come back.

We're stuck with Rafer. Period. Like it or not. Frankly, I'd just be happy if Rafer would stop shooting 3s with 23 seconds left on the shot clock after we get an offensive board...and apparently that's infectious because Luther Head pulled the same crap last night.

If Rafer shoots an open jumper and misses fine. It's the bad shots that make me scream f-bombs at the TV.

alston is our best option for the starting PG at this point. killbill maybe good, but he's still hasn't proven himself that he can handle the cruch time.

What we are missing is a backup veteran type Pg who can play in cruch time. aka like fisher type of player. we don't and that's what we are missing.

Rafer, while streaky, can actually hit open shots. VSpan cannot. Case closed on that one.

Though I agree, Rafer needs to spend the all star break learning how to make layups, teardrops

Well, we won the game. Also, he has to shoot more because right now we don't have many people that can create their own shot.

I cringe everytime Rafer shoots or drives like the rest of you do, but I really think that once Yao gets back his shots go way down.

If he shoots 17 shots with Yao/Mac in the game, then we have problems

a PG has no business shooting 17 shots, unless you're nash shooting 51%. even then i hear things of phx fans saying "i wish nash didnt shoot so much"

problem is sometimes Rafer shoots more than Yao. i guess some ppl just dont remember

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Your proof that he is better than James -- you know, the thing you said "no one ever responds to" -- was James' playoff experience with the Rockets when he shot 0-9 from three-point range.

You can admit it now ... you never looked at the rest of James' scoring in the series nor Rafer's playoff experience.

If we tossed in a pick do you think the Clippers would go for it?
