Matt Leinart may have something to say about that. Then again, I don't think ANY QB would want to play for the Texans, anyway, given their wOe-Line. I guess Michael Vick was smart to declare early...
No way will we draft Leinart or Young if we have a high draft pick. We are going straight for either D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Marcus McNeill, Eric Winston, and for you UT homers, mabye even Jonathan Scott. All franchise LT's and Im sure Carr, even if he does dissapoint this year, will get one more season.
what i want to know is how-in-the-hell have they not shored up this f'ing O line yet?!?!? it has been our GLARING problem since day one, and it's still as awful as it was then! that is inexcusable, and downright infuriating!!! WTF are we waiting for?!?!?
A decent offensive line turned Drew Brees from a guy who was half a step out of the league... to a Pro Bowler. And it turned Kurt Warner from a NFL MVP to trade bait (even though his line didn't turn out to be that bad... it just wasn't as good anymore as it was in the 2 SB seasons... and it was still 100x better than the Texans') Its not that hard... but unfortunately, most Houstonians are too far from the forest to see the trees (and that's the biggest reason they get a bad rap as a sports town). When things are going good... everybody is great, and they love them all. When things are going bad... nobody is safe... and logic is thrown out the window when analyzing the situation.
According to Dom Capers on the radio/game qoutes, alot of the blame should NOT go to the OLine. After the game and after they watched film (etc.), they observed that only one sack (1/5) was given up by the OLine, and the other 4 were attributed to blown assignments by the running backs and other players. Just telling you what Dom said..don't kill the messenger
That's because most of the blame should go to the guy saying this and his immediate boss. Crap in = Crap out
I shouldn't of said blame, I don't think that was the word he used. But none the less, I have never been a fan of Capers, and with the players we have given him on offense, even given a mediocre OLine (going by their performance on Sunday), he should be able to do a little more than that embarrassing showing.
The only thing that made me happy about Sunday's game? Dunta Robinson. I don't know if Buchanon thought he would be the premiere CB on the team coming in, but the opposing team sure as hell didn't think so. The Buffalo passing game didn't even seem to consider throwing it to the left side. Of course, why should they when it worked damn near every time to throw at Pat B's man. I'm sure Buchanon isn't as bad as he looked Sunday, but I'm starting to think he definitely wasn't worth what we traded for him.
Capers was frustrating to listen to. He acted like it was only the turnover margin that lost us the game. Other than that, he thinks we played ok. Uh, we only had 120 yards of offense! How can you say the offensive line played ok when Carr got sacked 5 times and Davis had no holes to run through at all.
The thing that made me mad about the game was the stupid penalties. 4 Defensive offsides in the first half (or more). Give me a break. If a second year QB is that good at manipulating the D with the cadence then make them all wear earplugs and watch for the ball before jumping offsides. This team looked real, real bad.
The offense lost the game. They were horrible the entire game. Hell, even the damn Carr-esque TD that we got was questionable. I thought the defense played pretty good in the second half.
