Stroud has folded under pressure far more often than he hasn’t.
Wouldn’t expect you to understand that though, you just look at counting numbers.

Don't understand how people can make any judgement that Lance isn't gonna be good based off a couple starts.

As if NFL QB’s come out the gate playing like All Pro MVP’s and aren't allowed to grow into the game.

The “he hasn't shown anything people” keep leaning on that excuse ignoring the sample size given.

Lance sat behind Jimmy G for most of 2021 and started like 2-3 games that season; then Lance got hurt in game 2 of the ‘22 season and was done for the year.

How in the world can you possibly assume “welp…thats it….he’s a bum!” based off 5 games?

    lol

Not a false dichotomy. There is no way that San Fran lets Lance go for anything less than a 1st plus some. Look to last off-season for proof. Sam Darnold went for a 2,4,6.

Also, being in Shanahan system and still looking as bad as he has is not a positive, specially for what it would cost.
    Purdy looks far better.

Yes, their physical traits are similar. Levis has a much better throwing motion, faster release. But other than that they’re similar physically

    ?
The Biggest stage against an NFL-talent rich team, he produced maybe his BEST game of his career. What has Levis done? Played shitty in his last 3 games as a college QB and got blasted by the Worst Clemson team in 8 years.

    One game. One.

Watch tape. Levis has had some elite games. Without near the talent Stroud has.

Well he only played a game and half this season so not sure how we can say if he is good or not at this point. He was always going to take time to develop...

Regardless its a silly hypothetical that probably won't happen.

Agree, that's it's too early to write off Trey Lance. However, there were some question marks given how little he played in college (cough Mills) and the level of his competition that make me wonder how SF gave up three 1st round picks for him.

What's interesting as a counterpoint to your premise is what "Mr. Irrelevant" Brock Purdy has done with his time in the SF QB saddle. Here's a comparison between Lance and Purdy that's fun to read, but not earth shaking by any measure... https://49ers.pressdemocrat.com/comparing-trey-lance-and-brock-purdy/

I think Purdy's experience in college prepared him better for jumping into the mix and winning 5 straight games. He also has a fantastic coaching staff and system that is helping him succeed. I think experience in the position and the kind of experience a player has is underappreciated part of evaluating players, especially QBs.

The fact that there have to threads like this to convince houston to take this man proves that this franchise and fans don't deserve Bryce. Glad he's most likely not going to get ruined by the texans ineptitude.

Um, Stroud has more than ONE game...LOL. Show me a game Levis has performed against NFL-grade talent all over the field?

You dudes keep acting like Bryce is some can’t miss generational prospect is more the delusion. He would be consensus number one overall if so. He’s not.

Niners have Brock Purdy on and even cheaper rookie contract because he was a seventh rounder. You don't need a perfect qb to run the Shanahan offense, it's run heavy so you need good blocking and good runningbacks. Matt Schaub was a two time pro bowler running that offense. Lance because of his athleticism, brings and added threat to the run game. Mike Lafleur, who I'm assuming will be the oc if DeMeco comes in, ran that offense with the jets and it looked good until Breece Hall got hurt, they also had o line issues, tackles dropping like flies, they brought in Duane Brown for a bit then he got hurt. Even with the issues with the interior, the Texans offensive line is miles better than the jets.

It doesn't matter. Real NFL decision makers know how tall he is. Him measuring himself would only help us fans from speculating.

Luckily the price the 49ers paid for Lance wont factor into the return they get from anyone trying to trade for him (assuming anyone does).

Purdy looks LEGIT and at this point, the ‘9ers can stay put and keep Lance, or they can keep Purdy and get a couple picks from some team willing to test the waters on Lance.

I don't think Lance will end up being a Texan, but all I’m sayin is considering all things, dude as an experiment wouldn't be so bad and with the lack of film on him, people forget that dude has wheels and an arm and size similar to Josh Allen.

Would not give up pick 12, but a 2nd and Cooks and a 4th or something could do it, maybe?

Again, don't think it will happen…but if DeMeco gets the gig (besides being pumped for that alone), the prospect of getting the underrated QB along with Ryans is dope if that could manifest.
