Nope, Caserio was adding talent during those down years. Stingley, Collins/Tunsil, Howard, Pitre, Harris, Cashman, etc... Really good young players. Then he added FA's to be competitive and show the young guys how to work like Perryman/Ward/Nelson/Ward/Hughes. The club wasn't barren of talent. They got their pass rusher and QB last year, then added an OL and fixed the secondary as well as signing the NFL leading sacker. They just need health on the OL and the IDL to play well and this team can beat anybody. Caserio was building for the future. What I like most about Caserio is his willingness to learn what kinds of players Ryans wants and then he will spend money/draft capital to get the guys Ryans wants.
You couldn’t even get a fifth rounder for Bryce Young. The Packers might give you a 6th given their situation.
At some point we need to move on, but it's hard not bring this up. Especially when stupid Fox 9 showed the ENTIRE GAME locally despite it being 30-3 at halftime. They should have switched to another game.
Meanwhile people saying CJ had a "bad day" with 234 yards, 2 Touchdowns and a 115 rating , well actually he wasn't at his best but this example is extremely glaring on the difference from one to the other
I kind of feel bad for the guy at this point. As much as I can feel bad for a multi-millionaire in his early 20s.
Bryce legit might be out of the league within a few years. He can't see/read coverages and I don't know how he can fix that.
New coach and GM. He’s gone if they have another 3 or 4 win season. I thought he and CJ would be great. Boi was I wrong about that.
Not really. I don't see a need to come in and defend the OP every time the thread gets a bump. Bryce was the consensus number on QB at the time the thread was posted, and this team sorely needed one. It seemed to be a lock to get the number one pick. Many Texans fans were starting to say that we should roll with Mills and go with Will Anderson. This thread was in response to that crowd. I was wrong on Bryce (as were most others), but I also thought the other guys would be good. I had Stroud third on my list (behind Bryce and Richardson) mainly because I didn't think the Texans would draft him over the other two. I am extremely glad that we ended up with CJ. I'm not somebody that hitches my wagon to one player and one player only. I support anyone that is on this roster, so as soon as we drafted Stroud, I felt no need to comment on/have any attachment to Bryce. In short, this thread was started in response of those who wanted to roll with Mills and draft Anderson, and I was on board with (as was the large majority of people) the consensus too QB in the draft. In hindsight, I'm extremely glad that Lovie won that game, thus mostly taking the decision out of our hands, and that we ended up with the better guy. Can't say how happy I am that CJ is my quarterback and not Bryce. And that our front office had the balls to move back up and get Anderson.
Feel bad but this new league moves faster than it did just 10 years ago. They could already be looking at a new high draft rookie qb
The thread for the starter is locked but I think Jameis could take over for the Browns at some point this season.
