if only they had the uniforms, logo, and team name of the Oilers i would be a fan. i wonder how many of the Oilers/Titans fans have converted to lifelong Texans fans now.

It is odd how all of those "Houston Titan" fans that seemed to be so prevelant just a few years ago are nowhere to be seen these days. Oh well, whatever it takes for them to see the light. There's plenty of room on the bandwagon :).

I converted last year, but it took a while because I don't live in Houston any longer.

As soon as the Oilers left Houston, I had no desire to follow them at all. I had no team to follow until Bob McNair brought us the Texans.

Thank you Mr. McNair, and congratulations.

agreed 100% I still remember the soul crushing defeat against buffallo when I was wearing my Super Blue in '92 shirt...its easy to forget that the Oilers had as much to do with the "Choke City" moniker as the Rockets did...

when they left I was 13, and I pretty much said F football. wasn't hard to do, considering how well is coincided with the Rockets hay day.

I have no doubt this is also part of the reason why this city has a collective sense of mommy issues when it comes to football. it doesn't matter how hot the girl is, we still believe at the end of the day we are just going to blow it...but this season just feels different.

It still irks me that the name is "Texans". I mean, aren't the Rockets..."Texans", aren't the astros..."Texans", and dare I say aren't the Cowboys..."Texans"?

the same way the Jets, Giants, Islanders, Rangers, Mets, and Knicks are all Yankees?

or the same way the Expos were also Canadiens?

Ditto. Would you really have rather had one of the following: Bobcats, Stallions, Toros, or Apollos? Didn't think so.

Say any other major Texas city with "Texans" after it. None of them sound even remotely as good as Houston Texans. It just fits.

The Texans merch could be a little more understated. does the logo have to be that big on everything? so gaudy. #GoTexans

I remember when Houston first got the team they wanted to bring back the old unis but Bud Adams wouldn't allow it. I was pissed and hated the Texans name and logo but I've grown to like it. Still bothers me when I see the Titans wear the baby blues but we have a better team, organization, and owner, and that's all that matters.

Well that was pretty uncalled for.

Save it for a time when he asks for it.
