what about CLE, OAK? Everybody keeps saying it's a deep draft, seems like teams would be interested in extra picks.
If Clowney's floor is Mario...then the Texans would have already signed Clowney to a deal. It would be a no brainer and there would be no reason to throw smoke screen all over the place.
To move up into those spots, we'd probably have to give up at least this years 2nd and 3rd, as well as next year's 1st.
Exactly. There would be no question who would be taken #1 if he was widely considered the Peyton Manning of defensive players.
Had he been allowed to just come out last year, that would have been his value. Peyton Manning of defensive players.
Yahoo sports' Shaun King did a mock draft where he felt Manziel wouldnt go in the 1st round. In that case, sign me up for... Clowney in the 1st and Manziel in the 2nd.
I don't believe that either. Manziel is going to light people up somewhere. There are going to be a lot of folks wondering why they didn't take him. Especially the Texans who look primed for Schaub 2.0 or Mario 2.0.
That seems to be the fantasy of the Manziel fanatics out there "OHHH he'll light up some where else ohhhhhhh" Suckers lol
No, I think he's probably better in coverage than Miller, but he doesn't have that kind of potential as a pass rusher because NFL TE's and OT's are much less likely to miss him completely than the teams he faced in college so I think he'll get swallowed up most of the time he's trying to rush the passer.
I personally think Mack's potential is under Miller's current capabilities (and that's not necessarily a knock on Mack). I could be wrong, but just watching the film, I feel like he sometimes gets swallowed up on blocks. Also, his level of competition is much weaker than what Miller had to go through in college. And this isnt like judging a QB...this is straight up Mack against a lineman from Eastern Michigan, Akron, Kent St. versus Von going up against a lineman from OU, Texas, LSU, etc... Mack has the physical tools, but he hasnt consistently faced top tier lineman. Of course, he did have a great game against Ohio State, but for the most part, he hasnt faced top tier competition.
