Well "seeing all we need to see" can mean he's the guy or he's not. Perfect from a credibility journalisit-wise.

It's a good prognostic sign if McClain says that Bortles is the leader.

That usually means that Bortles has no shot.

He guaranteed it would be a QB earlier, that's when I knew it wouldn't be a QB.

Why? Half (if not more) drafts fail to produce a good QB. None of these guys this year are consensus number 1s and all of them have potential major issues. If there was any year where there was no good QB, it would be this one.

And it will be made worse if the Texans pick one of them.

I think this year's quarterback class is way better than last year's so the Texans are fortunate in that regard. I would hate to be debating over Geno, EJ, and Barkley. And the "consensus" is usually from the media and fans _ people who do not work for NFL teams.

And a lot of positions fail out of the draft... Not just quarterbacks. Do you remember who went #1 overall the year Steve McNair was drafted...???

    This...

McClain is now gonna be recognized on a national stage as a joke...He went on national tv and NFL network to proclaim that the Texans will take a QB with the first pick...sure sounds convincing...

Pancakes is an oaf. God help you if you follow him on Twitter and Baylor is doing anything remotely interesting. His "analysis" about the Texans for the longest time was finding 100 different ways in the english language to call them horrible. No actual analysis.

THAT BEING SAID, no one alive in Houston Sports has better stories than John McClain. He makes the circles anytime someone dies or sometimes he just tells one randomly. I would buy a book of stories from his history in Houston. Some AWESOME ones about silly Bud Adams.

Watkins, Clowney, or Mack. No QB #1.

I can all but guarantee you that despite the fact that he'll probably be a good QB, Watkins isn't in the conversation at all. The Texans aren't going to draft a #3 WR with the first pick in the draft.

Clowney/Mack and Garrapolo would be my dream scenario.

Okay, let me try to launch a respectable defense:

-Watkins arguably biggest can't-miss prospect in the draft
-AJ will be 33 this season
    -BOB uses multiple WR packages
-AJ counts $16 mil against the cap next year and we could get $9 mil in cap relief by trading him; Watkins makes AJ expendable next year and we need a new franchise #1 anyway.
-we're building for the future and Watkins-Hopkins is meant to be....

All are fair points (though I disagree that he's the biggest can't-miss prospect) but it would still be drafting a #3 WR over other spots that are actual needs right now.

He's absolutely an option if they want a good all around OLB instead of a dominating pass rusher. IMO Mack and Clowney should be the top 2 options.

Oh it already happened, and apparently he did well.

The Carr's tend to do well when not facing pressure or having to read defenses.

Yup, and he does have the best arm in the class. Actually it's pretty hard not to look good during pro day.
