You must have been too young to watch them, they were a pile of filth as a team. No qb was going to help them, Marino, Elway no body
Regardless of how bad Tampa was _ Young still sucked. That's why he had to go sit on the bench for some time and learn. If he was so good _ he would have been starting somewhere else in the NFL. Seems to me you must be too young to have watched. But there is a great invention called technology. Point is _ you don't find too many teams drafting smaller quarterbacks with high draft picks.

For whatever that's worth, ha.}
Yup, looks like a lot of this QB class could be seeing quite a long fall down the draft board. None of them are worth a top 10 pick and it looks like the league is wising up.

You guys are falling hook, line and sinker for the deception tactic that teams employ this time of year
Ah yes, they are trying to fool us into thinking they are planning on taking the best prospects in the draft while they secretly plan on reaching for someone else instead.
Watkins is the surefire talent in this draft that will give a team bang for their buck from day one. Mike Mayock said Sammy is the best wide receiver prospect he has seen in the past decade. It's a passing league and speed kills. This kid is a quarterback maker and I hope Jacksonville doesn't draft him and team him up with Shorts and Blackmon (if he can pass a drug test).... Yikes.
QFT some posters here are just infatuated with certain players, to the point of extreme bias. The answer is Clowney + QB in 2nd/3rd for BO'B to shape over time. Our defense next year should be much improved with Clowney and Cushing back. Clowney could REALLY thrive playing opposite Watt.
I'm not, every year teams over reach on QBs, and I expect the same thing to happen this year, maybe not with the Texans, but it's going to happen.
Yea the Mario + QB worked out so great. Never made the playoffs with that combination but maybe if the Texans keep doing the same thing it will work out.
not the same starting point look at the super bowl champs: elite defense + strong running game + game manager QB that's the formula
To be fair, the Texans didn't have a JJ Watt when they drafted Mario though. Also the talent on that team in 2006 was less than what is in place now.
Funny you should say that when the best defensive player(s) on Seattle were not drafted in the 1st round. Plus Seattle has a defensive minded head coach. We had an offensive minded head coach when we drafted Mario and now we have a new offensive minded head coach and you want to draft a DE who was only great at Carolina when Ingram was still there (and only had 3 sacs after he was gone) and try to make him a LB.. That's the biggest dice roll the Texans can throw if they draft Clowney #1 because at least Mario didn't have to change positions. We have an offensive minded coach and Sammy Watkins is a FASTER better version of Wes Weller that can play in the slot while we still have Dre and he's big enough to move outside when Dre leaves which could be at the end of this year.
Well than because we have J.J. _ they can go after a guy like Trent Murphy who is NFL 3-4 ready. Barwin went nuts playing with J.J. and I think he was drafted in the 3rd round so why risk a #1 overall pick on a pass rusher... A suspect pass rusher at that. Defensive players are easier to find. May not find someone with Clowney's combine talent though.
its funny, in the NBA, anything thats reported is just smokescreen. But here with NFL, anything reported seems to be gospel lol
Anything could be a smokescreen, but why would it be a smokescreen when people are saying that they expect the top teams in the draft to take the top players in the draft?
