I remember when he was certain we were drafting Reggie Bush No wait...I remember when pancake said we were drafting Devon McCourtney and then we grab Kareem Jackson instead. He's a joke.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1983364-2014-nfl-draft-matt-millers-scouting-notebook Five Down 5. QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida Why the fall for Blake Bortles after he was the only top-tier quarterback to participate in workouts at the combine? For starters, it has nothing to do with how he or anyone else performed in Indianapolis but has everything to do with a question posed to me by an NFL scouting director. "What do you have if Bortles never gets better?" was the question asked when I mentioned how his raw tools made him an exciting player. So, what if Bortles' footwork doesn't improve? The answer is scary. He's a low-level NFL quarterback. As much as any one player in this draft, the UCF junior has loads of potential but is equally scary in that if he doesn't improve at the next level, he won't live up to his draft stock. ... Blake Bortles stock has taken as wild of a swing as I've ever seen in a three-week span. Heading into the combine, Bortles was largely touted as a potential No. 1 overall pick. Now? Team scouts aren't as in love with him after seeing him in person. Bortles could still go first overall, but that is based more on need than talent.
I think we should watch were these free agent quarterbacks land like Vick, Cassel, and Josh McCown. If these quarterbacks land on teams that need a quarterback then those teams may not draft quarterbacks in the 1st round. And with Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans in this draft. Johnny, Teddy, and Blake could easily fall out of the top 10.
Yes, I remember. McClain was touting the Ryan Mathews pick as if it was a foregone conclusion and anyone who thought the Texans would take someone else was wasting their time. But it wasn't a foregone conclusion, someone else wanted Mathews more. Maybe the Texans were using McClain as a smoke screen, because San Diego felt they needed to trade up to get him. My point is he isn't the end all authority on whom the Texans will take, as he likes to portray himself.

Interesting http://nfl.si.com/2014/03/06/2014-nfl-draft-rumors-houston-texans-jadeveon-clowney/ Clowney, Clowney, Clowney, Clowney, Clowney!
A new head coach doesn't want to risk his immediate future on a 22 year old rookie quarterback. Peyton Manning is the best QB of all time and he threw 28 interceptions in his rookie year. The Texans are going to be a defense + running attack team, similar to the Seahawks. A game manager is just fine as QB. McNair has said we don't need a rebuilding process. This team has talent already, we just need a change of scenery at QB. A veteran plugs in well into that mix. Overlay that with McNair's South Carolina roots and you've got an obvious path forward with Clowney at #1. Clowney would have been the number one pick in 8 out of the last 10 drafts -- only exceptions being Andrew Luck and Eli Manning. I'm still laughing at the Raiders taking Jamarcus Russell over Calvin Johnson in the 2007 draft. That's what happens when you force a QB at #1 out of need. It's what happened to the Texans in 2002 as well -- this QB class smells more like David Carr/Joey Harrington than Andrew Luck/RG3 to me. Doesn't smell good.
Why should anyone trust what you have to say??? You were same joker that insisted that Bridgewater didn't have a high football IQ
Zerlein was on the radio this morning roasting this guy for posting this because he has no source, was just speculating on twitter and a reporter ran with it.
I never said Bridgewater didn't have a high football IQ. I said that I don't think he has a high IQ. I'll gladly be proven wrong by his Wonderlic, but from when I've listened to him, I'm not impressed. Sorry if that offends you. My profession requires me to judge people's intelligence when making hiring decisions and I'm quite good at it.
except football iq is what matters in the nfl. i couldn't care less if TB couldn't add 2+2 as long as his football acumen is on par with peyton manning
I don't get questioning Teddy Bridgewater's brain....it's literally the only thing awesome about him. There's so much more to legitimately question, I don't see why anyone would question that.
I get the feeling you aren't. I guess you wouldn't have liked Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Terry Bradshaw or Donovan McNabb right??? Where do you drudge up this bs about him not having a high IQ????? Tuna happen's to not agree with you
None of those things are really awesome though. His pocket presence is alright...so long as there isn't any real pressure, his short distance accuracy is good, but he's shaky at best on the longer throws, his touch is spotty, and his arm strength is nothing special. He's what we call an Oklahoma 10. In the context of females from Oklahoma, you might rate one a 10 compared to the rest, if you compare her to better competition though....she's maybe a 6. In the context of a draft without any top tier QB talent at all, you can view Teddy as an awesome prospect, but he's really pretty shaky.
