Yeah but that's just it, will they have an actual NFL caliber QB? Drafting a QB in the first round doesn't guarantee that, just ask Blaine.
What are you babbling about? I never suggested that "most of us" weren't die-hard Texans fans....Perhaps you were reading things into my comment that weren't actually there.
Brown wouldn't be moved to RT, not at that salary number. How many elite tackles making big money have been traded for "a solid asset" in the past 10 years?
I think he would eventually be moved to RT, but it certainly wouldn't be any time soon because it would be a slap in the face to the guy who is by far the best player on our O line to move him for a rookie. Then again, I don't think there's any way we draft a RT with the first pick in the draft so it won't be an issue.
Since young elite left tackles don't come around often not many are traded. But if the Texans put Brown on the trade block in the next year or two they could probably get a lot for him.
You automatically assume the Jags are going to draft Bridgewater... I don't. If the Texans and the Rams pass up on a quarterback, these other teams may follow their lead. The Texans may have their pick out of 1 or 2 of the top quarterbacks in the 2nd round. Possibly all 3. This draft may go like last year's draft as far as quarterbacks are concerned.
If they drafted Robinson, I think they might consider playing him on the right for a year. He is more a run blocker than a pass blocker at this point. It would be nice to have the luxury to ease him into professional pass blocking rather than just throwing him to the wolves.
Well they better hope that it ALWAYS fools the Texans if they take Clowney because if it doesn't, Watt or Clowney will have an open shot on him and he won't be able to take many of those kinds of hits.
I'd love that. You'd have a turnover prone QB in Indy and two small QB's who aren't game changers in Jacksonville and Tennessee. Also, it would ensure that Tennessee wasn't a threat to the Texans for the foreseeable future. Win/Win/Win.
Problem is that Bridgewater will get the ball to Blackmon and Shorts quick fast and in hurry once he sees clowney and watt bearing down on him
He's a DE in a 4-3 system but with his physicality, I think he could adjust to 3-4. You could interchange him as OLB to take full advantage of his pass rush behind someone like Ra'Shead Hageman for example.
