. Is this a Legit source: Teddy did not sign with Roc Nation.. Marx Vandemer is on 610 Sports Radio and he just said he did impress.. LOL this is crazy everyone has multiple sources i guess
General rule of thumb - NO ONE is reliable between January and May. Most reliable source? Roger Godell standing at the podium....
Mock Draft Survey Pick breakdown (30 mocks): QB: 22 (73%), DE: 8 (27%) Most popular picks: UCF QB Blake Bortles 11 (37%), South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney 8 (26%), Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater 6 (20%), and Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel 5 (17%)
I really don't understand the Bortles BS, Sure he's one of the few QB prospects in this class that have the size to be a durable QB in the NFL, but is he really that much better than Mettenburger who could easily be had in the 2nd or even 3rd round? I'm not sure about that.
Hes not even better than Teddy or Manziel.. This guy was completly off the radar when the season started.. Im serious a late or even 2nd rd pick to me..
My thought process, which goes against the herd. -On Bridgewater - of the QBs, he's who I like the most. I don't put scrambling ability above decision making and able to play in the pocket. He looks ready to go with the least amount of learning curve ahead of him. Highly coachable, self motivated and dedicated, I'll take those at the price of more pedestrian athleticism and arm strength. I don't anticipate him being a "true" franchise guy though....so you have to ask if you're staying on the mediocrity treadmill with him. -On Bortles - I'm personally not in love with using the #1 pick on a guy riding on "potential." Love the physical attributes, very worried about the notion that he's a QB that needs to learn how to play the position. This has to be deferred to scouts and front office...but you'd better KNOW you've got someone worth the wait if that guy will need a couple of years before he can start helping. -On Manziel - not taking away what he did at A&M, but I see nothing but red flags with him. Leaving out all the character and work ethic stuff, he's a guy that thrives once a play has broken down. If you are a great scrambler that can't stay in the pocket and make your plays there....it stops being a plus. Maybe he goes on and is sensational, but I don't expect it, personally. -With all 3 QBs...is O'Brian determined to pick his guy in April? It feels like there is increasing smoke to suggest that he may go with a veteran placeholder this year and wait until he's genuinely excited about a prospect before hitching his wagon to a rookie. -On Clowney - I keep going back and forth on him. I'm far less concerned about his motivational/work ethic reputation since he's playing at a position where you can get away with that and still be high impact (as opposed to QB). I can't figure his exact fit - can he play some 3-4 end? Will he adjust well standing up? Will he not want to stand up? Does he mesh with Crennel's scheme at all? Will he, like Watt, transcend any one position and it not matter? I honestly don't know the answer to those questions. I suspect that Crennel would be more interested in finding a space eater like Nix for his line than another penetrator, but they are keeping their plans locked up tight. -Sammy Watkins - this starts getting into the less orthodox thinking. If we have question marks regarding all the above but are free to pick anyone in the draft....do we need to start considering other potential franchise players regardless of need? Watkins looks astounding, period. Even if WR is a position of strength today, should we consider that (1) AJ is one year closer to passing the torch and (2) whether Hopkins projects to be a bonafide #1 or an excellent #2? Finally -Jake Matthews - the other guy that isn't discussed because he's not projected to be the top pick....but why put yourself into a box voluntarily? Right side of the line is a GLARING problem, not just need, and directly affects the ability of whomever we install at QB to perform. We are about at the point of tossing the idea of Newton as a starter. I don't know what the team is seeing from David Quessenberry or Brennan Williams. Williams' knee has to be a longterm concern regardless. It is tough to be strongly optimistic that either player will be the savior at right T. ...Which brings me to look hard at Matthews. Not a sexy pick, but you have an upper tier tackle that played a lot of time on the right side in college and could double as a major insurance policy against a Duane Brown injury. If Newton, Quessenberry, and Williams all of a sudden become backups, you go from being stretched thin along the line to sporting good depth. --> I'm not privileged to see 1% of what team personnel are seeing, and even if I could, I probably won't take away much more than 1% of what they take away. O'Brian is keenly aware that this draft will set the tone for his tenure here, so I fully trust him to make the best call for his vision of the team. I can't pretend to know what that is, but am excited to see what we've got come August.

Well I'd put Bortles over Manziel, but not Bridgewater. They are all flawed QB prospects for different reasons though. Bortles has great size, but I'm not sold on the rest of his game Bridgewater is a smart kid, but I'm not sure he would be able to stay healthy and I'm not sold on some of the throwing aspects of his game. Manziel isn't a legitimate NFL QB prospect, I wouldn't even consider picking him before the 5th round.
Metteberger has character problems, and he apparently also has some problems with some basic stuff, like staring down receivers, per stuff I've read.
Kicked off the team @ UGa. Knowing the Texans, and the directives of Bob McNair, I think it'll be a major issue for them, especially at QB.
This has to be one of the worst years in a while to have the number one pick. Even the most talented player in Clowney has some serious question marks.
