Sorry, but I've yet to see that level of homerism. The people who bash Manziel are much more vocal.

To me, it's simple. The Texans need a QB more than they need a pass rusher, and Manziel is the best QB in the draft. He had a great college career, he had a great pro day, he has a ton of upside, and the media love him. I think the Texans are crazy to pass on him. Yes, he's a hobbit, but that doesn't mean he can't succeed. I'd keep it simple and draft Manziel at one and try to trade back up for Mack.

But if they draft Clowney, I can live with that, but it's got to be one of them.

I think that in general, if Clowney or Mack or Bortles or Bridgewater sucked, the fans would be upset and call them out on it. If Manziel sucks, there are many, because of their loyalties to A&M and/or the "local" guy, that would not accept it and put blame everywhere except JFF and just end up being obnoxious.

If it happened with Keenum, and it has, it's going to happen with Manziel.

This draft will be weird. Even after the first pick, we will have to watch past that for the trade.

someone mention that the texans may be waiting til their trade partner picks. to assure them they are getting their guy. They don't their fellow gms and rightfully. i would say look for a immediate trade if mack or manziel get out of the top 5..because atlanta could either of the two for us

Schaub fans were Texans fans first, lots of Johnny fans will come in as Aggie/Johnny fans first and foremost.

I'm making this post so that I can refer to it in the years that pass, so that I am on the record.

The Texans need to draft Manziel. He is the obvious answer to their most pressing need. The most dynamic QB prospect in recent memory, fiery, competitive, can do it all, Texas kid. All the pieces clicked perfectly for the Texans to get in this position. If they choose to outsmart themselves and go a different direction, the Texans' fan base will come to rue this day.

Manziel is going to be a star. I believe Clowney will be also be very good. But the Texans need Manziel a hell of a lot more than they need Clowney.

People b**** about the Texans not getting any attention.

People b**** about the Texans being 4rd fiddle in this state. (It's Cowboys, UT, ATM and then Texans in that order) when it comes to football fan base.

What does that have to do with my point? So you are glad the LOF's came in and invaded Clutchfans then I'm guessing. Because it sure got this board a lot more attention.

My whole point is that this whole discussion (as annoying as some of the one-sided posters can be) still isn't as bad as the way LOF's ruin any discussion in the main basketball board.

I take that back because clearly some of you Johnny fans will be that bad if the team does draft him.

Don't change the channel until after Atlanta picks. We could be picking Clowney for them
if the player we would settle for is still on the board.
