Manziel won't slide past Dallas at #16.

If we're looking to trade back into the 1st it'll probably be for Teddy. We more than likely won't have to move up 18 picks just to select him if he falls out of the top of the draft.

Agreed. Up until yesterday, it was assumed Johnny would be Top 5. They probably won't be able to trade TOO far up in the first. And if they do trade up, it probably is to select a QB. Manziel and Bortles will be gone and I can really only see them doing it if Cleveland passes on a QB at #4 and they Texans want to jump in front of them at #26. With Bortles and Manziel gone, that leaves Bridgewater and Carr. Probably won't be Carr.

I think the organization wants Mack and Manziel and they're trying to figure out how to make it happen with Atlanta. Hence both ATL and Hou inquiring about trading UP in the first round.

I've thought for a while that the organization should be targeting Mack in a trade down with Atlanta, getting extra picks from ATL that they can then merge with their second rounder to trade up to 12-15 to try to get Manziel.

(And frankly...this is what I want. Both Mack and Manziel.)

They also didn't need a receiver a few years back when they took Dez Bryant.

    Jerry does what Jerry wants.

YES!!! This is what I want. Get aggressive, find a way to get Clowney and JFF or Teddy. I don't think Bortles will fall enough to make this scenario work.

That would make sense. We'd get Manziel plus extra picks. Who knows, we might even be able to trade back up and also get Mack.

Manziel & Mack, how could anyone ###ch about that haul?

    Cowboys could seriously take Manziel:

In his final mock before tonight’s first round of the NFL Draft, ESPN’s Todd McShay made a stunning revelation about the Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. McShay predicts the Cowboys will select Johnny Football at No. 16 tonight and has been told that might have been the team’s plan all along. Here’s his explanation of the selection:

“I said on TV this week that if the Cowboys draft Manziel it will break Twitter, and that’s what happens in this scenario. We’ve had more than one person in the league tell us that Manziel is believed to be the No. 1 player on the Cowboys’ board, and it wouldn’t surprise us if they took him here is he’s still available. If Manziel is gone by this point, or the Cowboys choose not to take him, linebackers Anthony Barr, C.J. Mosley and Ryan Shazier are all possibilities with the No. 16 pick.”

And McShay isn’t alone. NFL Network’s draft guru Mike Mayock also thinks the Cowboys will go with Manziel tonight. Here’s what Mayock said during his network’s mock draft reveal show on Wednesday via the Dallas Morning News:

“If Johnny Manziel happened to get to 16, it’s party time in Dallas. If Manziel is on the board, I really believe it’s going to be one of those things when the owner takes over and says, ‘That’s our guy.’ I don’t think Jerry could help himself. It’s that simple.”

Mayock added this one personal caveat on the Manziel/Cowboys situation:

“I think (the Cowboys are) further away than people think to winning a championship. If Johnny Manziel was sitting there at 16, I’m not saying that I would take him, but I’m telling you that I think it’s a legitimate conversation, and I think at the end of the day, Jerry Jones would pull the trigger.”

If Manziel goes to Dallas it is assured that he will be out of the league in 4 years time

I think in the case of the Texans trading back into the 1st round is only if they trade the #1 overall pick and get more picks.

    Cowboys offense isn't the problem.

    It's the defense. Stupid.

If that report is true. Than O'Brien is more concerned about the backlash from the public if he were to take Johnny #1 overall.

If he thinks a guy can be "The Guy" that's all the justification he needs because it's his @$$ on the line and not the public's.

That would be my worst nightmare. If the Texans don't pick Johnny, I will continue to follow and root for Johnny. However, the Cowboys are the one NFL team I truly hate, they are the one team I could never support in any way. I do have a feeling that Jerry would LOVE to have Manziel. Can you just imagine how horrible it would be to see Johnny become an NFL star playing for the Cowboys? That would be unbearable.
