What the hell does race have anything to do with it?

Why do people keep bringing race into it?

And how do you have so much rep for posting?

People who use race as a talking point without real relevance...well it's stupid and shameful.

Say we do what everyone wants. Draft Clowney at the #1 spot. Ok yay! Now since Bridgewaters draft stock has dropped so much to where he might have fallen out of the 1st round. Is it a likely chance that we pick him up with our 1st pick in the 2nd round. That saying that the Raiders already found their QB in Schauby so they won't draft a QB. I only see Jacksonville and Cleveland, that's if they don't trust Hoyer, and maybe the Vikings taking a QB in the first. Maybe we could come away with a dream draft of Clowney and Bridgewater afterall. Thoughts?

I think they should trade for multiple picks. Clowney would be my pick if it's kept. Taking a QB with #1 means you are banking on this person to be your franchise QB. I like Manziel but you just never know how players will do in the NFL. He has the desire and fire to be a great QB. He's just not an obvious #1 pick. I would prefer Manziel later in the first round.

I understand your point, but I'm saying if you are going to sell McNair on skipping on the Gamecock freak defensive player you better have a really good story to sell. Almost no one disputes that Clowney is the top overall prospect in the draft and the Texans failed to draft that guy in 2002 and it bit them. I think McNair is going to be pushing hard to get the guy from his Alma Mater given that going defense rather than reaching on an unworthy QB was the right move the first two times they had the first pick. This year looks like a VERY similar situation.

There is a chance...but a very, very small chance.

I think, if Bridgewater starts slipping, you trade up to get him...instead of hoping he continues slipping or in the event another team trades up to get him.

Coming away with Clowney and Bridgewater would be pretty impressive...specially if we can hit on 2-3 other picks.

I wouldn't even think you really needed to hit on any other picks. Coming away with what should be a pro-bowl DE/OLB and top 12-15ish NFL QB would be an amazing draft. Especially given how hard it is to find a good NFL caliber QB.

Interesting that Teddy has fallen to 3rd on Mayock's rankings. I have no idea what BOB's QB rankings look like. For all we know, he has several guys ahead of Teddy.

One thing I do know, BOB knows QBs and he's coming from college. He might be the best positioned person in the league to make judgements about QB potential pro success. It's because of this that I am confident that we will draft a good QB, and it's also why I strongly disagree with those folks who say we have to draft one with the 1st overall pick. bOB will find our guy; I'm not concerned about what round, or who that guy is because BOB knows best when it comes to the QB position.

Simply can't pass on Clowney if we keep the pick.

He'd have to fall into the 20's before they'd even consider it, which could happen because the games aren't played on Madden. I think his serious physical limitations could very well make him drop even if he does have the biggest brain.

This is my hope. Draft Clowney. Teddy falls to the 20s. Trade up to 24/25 (just in front of Browns) using 2.1 + 4th & 5th rounder.

I think our 4th could be enough by itself because it's the first pick in the fourth which makes it like a late 3rd. I'd only want to do that if BOB thought he was worth it though, if he doesn't think he's significantly better than anyone else who would drop to our pick in the 2nd, then I wouldn't waste the picks, we have needs to fill and I wouldn't want to give up any of our picks unnecessarily. We'll get to see how much he really believed it when he said that there wasn't much separation between the top 7-10 QB's in this class.

Love to get Clowney and maybe Bortles in second as an O'B project.

Possible, but not likely. I think that there are teams at the bottom of the first round that typically don't get mentioned in the "need a QB" group with Houston, Jacksonville, and Cleveland that could take one of the top QBs if they dropped. Arizona at #20 (Palmer is 34), KC at #23, Cincinnati at #24 (if they're still lukewarm on Dalton), then Cleveland at #26 if they pass on QB at #4. I've seen some people predict 5 or 6 QBs going in the first round. I don't think that'll happen, but I doubt TeddyB makes it to round #2.

It all depends on how good teams think he is. I've heard that there are a lot of teams really low on him for the obvious reasons. As to your line of thinking though, I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle and San Francisco also started looking for a QB of the future because their game managers are about to start asking for ridiculous amounts of money soon.

Maybe Pittsburgh could be a sleeper team looking for a QB as well with all the trade rumors swirling about Big Ben.

But except for Arizona... Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh play outside in inclement weather so Teddy may not be high on their board.

I'm not a Texans fan but I feel if the Texans aren't 100% percent in love with a top quarterback they should just take Clowney. Because even if you question his motor you can't question the talent.

Me personally I would take and risk my job on Manziel. Because with him I know in his heart he knows he will be a franchise QB. With Clowney he says it but it sounds like he's reading a script. He might believe he's the best player in this draft but he doesn't show the emotion to it.

    It's going to be Clowney.

Let's hope his awful attitude and terrible work ethic change.

Watt needs to be on his a** 24/7

Clowney has big time maturity issues. Big time bust potential.

    He will not pan out.
