Finally you share something out of your ass. So if you are making observations or definitions about a basketball fake , does that mean you're an NBA caliber player or coach? I'm sure the most you could be is an NBA waterboy. Your notion that only NBA players or coaches should make observations on this board is utterly ridiculous and with the same breadth you make your own definition about what a basketball fake is. the point is the defense converges on the driving or slashing guard and this is what leaves other players open. Hence there is an element of deception. You're very knowledgeable about defining what a basketball fake is , maybe the rockets should hire you.
Not making 10 shots per game is not necessary for a true PG as long as he make most efforts in organizing the team. Magic usually made over 10 shots per game, but you can't say he is not a true PG. I think Rafer is doing pretty well if he makes few pointless three point attempts.
--**Lone Star Rebel Approves this Post**-- ...But I'd add Raymond Felton on the list, the last 2 years this cats been money at the 1 Spot.
Pacmania- I know what ur trying to say, but hoops is fluid. No one is fooled by the triangle or utah's offense, but the execution is what develops points. There isn't anything deceptive about a pnr. Watch some old tapes of kj vs the rox in the playoffs when he was dropping 40 and 15 dimes. The rox game plan was to get him and barkley to score and stick to marjle the 3pt threat. Smith was told to come under the screen and dream to sag and stop penetration. KJ was so good from 15ft and so explosive that it was like a pnr clinic. No fakes, stunts, or mega tron type deceptions. Basketball is more checkers than chess. The adjustments are subtle because players make plays.
