From Adelman's perspective, I vote for.... "Budinger is making shots, Lee is knows the system better and can play the 2."

I'm really anxious to see this kid play, I don't buy into this "one shot" to get through to him, he can play and if he displays attitude or loses work ethic he can sit. I just think the team has been playing well at the 3 position, and Lee is more versatile of a wing player for the system.

From Morey's perspective, send him to the D-League, if a trade happens, call him up but I don't think he'll be getting traded, it'll be Bud/Battier in a package, I still think Morey has a huge man-crush on Lee and won't let him go.

Why I am highly impatient and want to see T-Will play, I must admit Adelman is great at bringing up young guys and getting the most out of them.

In fact I would argue that is his biggest strentgh as a coach if you look at his career. He made Webber into a MVP candidate type player, helped Martin jump start his career, and has done a ton for guys here.

You always see these guys go to another team and start to struggle as well.

I agree with everything you say, ideally. Unfortunately, I think the D-League "punishment" T-Will had to deal with in New Jersey may have foreclosed that option. The Rockets may fear "losing" him if they send him down to the Valley.

But if Williams was receptive to going to the Valley, I could see him getting significant minutes while learning the Rockets' system much more quickly. And, yes, Williams is enough of a talent where it would be best if he were on board with this idea.

That is a good illustration on the differences between teams and player development. The Rockets use the D-League as a way to build confidence and skills while other teams use them to try to salvage under-performing players or as discipline. I doubt the Rockets send TWill down in case of injury to a wing, especially Battier.

I think the Hayes injury hurts his chances even more. Patterson needs to get used to playing with the regulars, and the whole rotation has changed now, so they all need to get used to that as well; Rick's not going to want to throw Williams into the mix to further complicate things. Nor does he need to.

The Nets really screwed up the way the D-League option for T-Will. NBA teams don't practice every week.

It's going to take a him alot longer to get up to speed with 2-3 practices in a and 10 minutes off the bench vs compared 5 days of 32+min games and practices every week in the NBDL.

Getting a good player in the draft isn't just about picking the best talent. It's also about developing it properly.

I dint think he is in our plans at all. I think Aldeman has no ionterest in him what so ever. Or Maybe Aldeman and Morey are testing his patience and character.

If anything, the fact that he isn't playing means he ISN'T going to be traded.

T-Will will be worth more to us than to another team for a good while. To other teams, he has a lot of potential, but is a knucklehead. It will be a long time before he means more to the rest of the league than that.

I tend to agree. I think he's being stashed in hopes that other teams forget we have him. He'll get some playing time after the deadline.

I thought that as well, however there may still be room for him if he can grasp the system relatively quickly. We need defensive help at the 2-3.

I believe with Yao+Hayes injuries we have... 13 players? Adelman for sure wants more than 12 bodys to practice. Can be the reason why he's still with the team. Consider also that he's activated (not Ish Smith).

I hear T-Will impressed observers in his first practice with the team

There is no situation. I want to see him too. Just like White and Green and Snyder and every other hyped athletic knucklehead that may of may not catch on. Until it happens, just shut up.

White and Snyder were never anything other than complete scrubs. Williams has already shown that he can ball hard at the NBA level, if you look at his game logs for the last couple months of last season and not at his stats for the whole season.

Adelman is a huge practice type of coach as most are. Cassell wasnt a good practice player and thats why he was on the bench so long, but even as he started getting gametime, he was never a good practice player. The term "gamer" applied to cassell. I'm not saying thats williams, but if he doesnt outpractice chase and lee, he wont play even though he's more talented than both.

He was in the D-league a little over a month ago and averaged a triple double. I don't think the D-league is the place for him.
