I honestly believe... he's not gettin PT, because there working on a trade package that includes Chase Budinger, and there givin Chase time to find his game, so his trade value goes up.. I don't buy much into the practice situation, because when Lowry was traded here, he didn't have many practice's at all.. b4 he was threw into the mix, and I thought the pg position was the hardest one to learn Updated my 2k11 roster the other day.. T-Will's rating is a 76 ( i believe ).. and Budinger's is a 70.. and T-Will havn't had nba gametime in a while.. so that gives u sense of who's the better overall player.. When Budinger's traded, that when Williams will get his playing time.
Kevin Garnett was 100% a superstar when he was acquired. To debate otherwise is fool worthy. He was much more of a superstar than the majority of today's luminaries. He had it all.
T-Will regressed a little in his 2nd year in NJ. I trust what Morey says about viewing T-Will as a rookie. Whatever bad habits that he picked up in New Jersey has to be unlearned. It takes time and patience to bring a young player up to speed, especially one that had previous issues with the last coaching staff. It will take time to build trust in what Adelman and his assistants are doing. He has to trust that the Rockets aren't going to handle him the same way that Avery did.
Disagree with you on Garnett, he was a defensive super star and gave you enough on the offensive side of the ball to claim the title of SS. I don't think he ever was an offensive superstar where most guys earn the rep but on the defensive side, he was ALWAYS a beast.
Bud is being traded so he's in the lineup to keep his value up and T-Will in the bench to keep his stock low so teams don't ask to package him in a trade.
Adelman's standard procedure is to let newcomers sit on the bench, particularly so with the younger players. My guess is that he wants to see some of the small things -- no complaining, working hard at practice, displaying good attitude. They DO get their shot but it just comes later in the season -- happened with Bud, Landry, Brooks... Not so much with Dorsey or JT. But his method of evaluating "rookie" talent seems to be more or less spot on.
Look at his stats in the last month or so and tell me where this inconsistency is at? He's playing some of the most consistent ball he's played in the last year at least. Is he putting up 15, 8, and 3 every night? No, but that's why he's not a go to player or making the big bucks. All players, even scola and martin have off nights. The guys that are lower in the ladder than them will have even more off nights. You can have off nights and still be a consistent player. Right now battier has been consistent, but had an off night, which is probably where your comment is coming from.
He hasn't played because all of our games have been very close. Adelman is just comfortable going with what has been working. It seems like Budinger is getting out of his slump so minutes will be even harder to come by. Trade coming?
Adelman doesn't play rookies until an injury occurs usually. He always gives the nod to the more experienced guy for a very very long time. This was true in Sac-town and Portland and remains true here. That's why Ariza was stayed with for so long. That's why C-bud keeps on, and that's why you won't see T-williams until the situation really presents itself. In some ways it's a good thing since players don't have to look over their shoulders and can just do their thing. It helps guys like C-bud grow because they will never grow if they are constantly battling for 7 or 8 minutes here or there. It also keeps young guys motivated to work hard and proof they deserve to be on the floor. But of course, it's not always the best thing either.
But our team can barely tread water in the NBA and has fundamental flaws and duplication at several positions. Not to mention that if an opportunity arises to make a significant jump forward talent-wise, someone of value will likely have to go.
Agreed; you need a 'star', aka a guy who you can rely on when times get tough in the 4th quarter in the playoffs, and a good team around him. You don't have to have the elusive 'superstar'.
One of the downsides of being a .500 team like the Rockets is there aren't many blowouts in either direction. So players at the end of the bench who would only get in during garbage time get starved for minutes.
Rockets are rolling. Brooks, Lowry, Martin, Battier, Lee are doing a good job. He'll have to do a good job in practice to earn time.
You're right, but we have to be patient on the board. We do want to see what Williams can do,but the coaching staff is looking at his pros/cons. He may not be as talented as some of us think. I admit I want to see him get on the floor when Bud plays badly, but he came in with some red flags too.
It's amazing Shaud.. out of my whole statement.. this is what u point out? smh.. I guess everything else i said was on pair.. but my statemet u quoted was way out of bound right? As Far as i'm concerned.. 2K might not be a 100% accurate.. but they do have a good feel of which players are better than other's.. take that with u!
